Teething Question.... HELP!!!!
Can DS be teething terribly but have no sign of a tooth breaking through the gum at all??? DS has been soooo cranky and not himself at all the past couple days. CONSTANT crying, fussy eating, fingers in mouth all the time.... But no actual sign of a tooth coming through. Could it still be teething? Or should I take him to the Ped? Please help... I'm about to lose my mind. for BTDT moms, if it is in fact teething, how long will this go on before the tooth comes through and relief sets in???? TIA!

I say it doesnt hurt to take him to the ped. You never know if its his ears or something. I never hesitate. Thats what they are here for.

Re: Teething Question.... HELP!!!!
I wish i had more advice. DD never really got that fussy when teeth were coming out. She just got cold-like symptoms.

He has had cold like symptoms for about 2 weeks now too, but those seem to be going away. I'm going to talk to the babysitter later and see how he is today. Thanks for all your advice. I wish there was a magic wand that you could wave and it would tell you what was wrong with them. Like the metal detector at the airport...It's so frustrating.

Doesn't hurt to go to the ped. I thought DS was teething, however, it was an ear infection. DS had a slight fever off and on as well.

I've been doing Motrin at night time (he's almost 9 months) for about a week now so that he can sleep but I'm worried about using that too much... Do you have any thoughts on that?

I would take him to the doctor but I have to say that Jacob was in rare form for 3 months before 6 teeth came through

Re: Teething Question.... HELP!!!!
Does he have any teeth yet? Is he droolling excessively?
Jack turned into a monster when he was teething and hardly anything could make him happy. He had rosy cheeks, a cold, drooling, and white gums (they weren't there the entire time though)
Good luck - I hope it gets better soon. Can you give him some tylenol during the day to ease him - in case he is in pain during the day?

He has had the two middle bottom teeth since he was 5 1/2 months old. There are no bumps or anything in his mouth to show me that he's teething, but he did have a cold, has a rosy nose and cheeks and constant drool with his hands in his mouth (even more if he's fussing...) I really hope that's what this is about but I'm nervous, as I usually am.

Re: Teething Question.... HELP!!!!
It seems as if my son has been teething since he was 2 1/2 months old. Its crazy....hes 7 months old, and still no tooth....for a while it was bad, I could have sworn he would be cutting one, but then it got better....it came in spurts!
