Teething remedies-Come in, PLEASE SHARE!
Day 3 and the teething isnt getting any better. I now have a whiny teether, with a cold who only wants mommy.
I wish I could take it away!!
So, I use Tylenol (cause she also was getting a fever) and some homeopathic teething tablets.
What else is good to use?
TIA!!

Would she like to chew on a teether? DD has a fish shaped teether that is made by Sassy that we keep in the fridge, and she seems to like that alot.
Its not fun! Hang in there!

Is she old enough for Mortin? That helps to allevate the gum swelling. Also, Baby Oragel....It numbs the area.

get a washcloth and get it pretty wet, ring out most of the water and put it in the freezer - use it as a teether when frozen.

Great suggestion! My sister also used to freeze pieces of fruit (banana, apple) to let my niece "gum" on them.

My DD is going through the same thing right now.
I have been using motrin, teething rings and the mesh feeder. I put grapes, apples or frozen bananas in it.

Deb, I feel your pain. DS is going through the SAME thing and only wants me. It is torture for me to leave him in the mornings to go to work!!!! I have been using tylenol, and i have been giving him teeters, but nothing seems to work either. I did actually give him a different binky the other day (A soothie one that he HATED when he was a baby) and he was just using it to chew on...maybe try that? It seemed to work for a little bit!!!

We have the same teether and it was a lifesaver, it was the only one that she liked.
We use Hylands teething tablets.
I have also heard if you take a washcloth and dip it in chamomile tea and put it in the freezer its calming for them

I would give her motrin if you think she's in pain. I always gave Tylenol every four hours when Jack was in teething he!!.
Also, the wet washcloth - he would bite down on my fingers so hard - it seemed to help.
Sorry - hope she gets some relief soon!

Deb, I'd say Motrin & the Hylands tablets work wonders.
My dad also put her paci in the fridge last time she was crying & she seemed to really like that & her regular teethers.

DD loved frozen teethers and the mesh bags with an ice cube in them... And motrin at night, tylenol never did a thing for her...

Deb -
cut an apple into a thick, round piece (you know, so its a circle with the skin around it) and let her chew on it....
Cailen LOOOOOOOOVES this and it really soothes his gums because its cold, plus its yummy, so thats an added bonus. He scrapes his teeny bottom teeth against it. He is in heaven!!!!

Re: Teething remedies-Come in, PLEASE SHARE!
I got the gel teethers (not the rings) and he likes those and to hold them. He doesn't like us to touch his gums, so I am not going to try anything on them at this point.
Deb, I just want to say though, we though Christopher was just teething with a small cold and after three days with a low grade fever (101) DH took him to the dr yesterday and he has an upper respitory infection and pink eye!! (and his eye only got pink Thursday night) and we feel like the worst parents ever!
