My Toyota Matrix gets 30 mpg. I LOVE the space in that back and that the seats go down. The only neg. is that I think it is a little sluggish when I need to accelerate fast...
ditto. great on gas...not so good going up mountains. I drove a jeep with the top down all the time before this, so I had zero blind spots. not sure if its me or the matrix, but I feel like I don't see enough around me in it.
I'm worried about lack of pick-up...my Neon kicks arse when it has to, even with the A/C on.

I am suprised you think 30 MPG is good
30 MPG is "good", not excellent & it is the absolute lowest I'd go. Most cars that claim to get 26 MPG Hwy don't get anywhere near that because people drive so fast. If everyone truly got 30MPG (or more)we wouldn't be paying $3 a gallon for gas & there would be a chance that polar bears will be alive when our great grandkids are.
my SUV gets 22 on the highway- or that's what the computer says- my Little Mercedes C230 got 36 mpg- but I thought I was going to die in it
but don't worry- I went from driving 400 miles a week- to maybe driving 400 a month now- my SUV has been parked since sunday
I even walked, yes walked- to the post office today

That is awesome, my goal for 2008 is to change my job or career so I can have a shorter commute.

my Xterra gets 16 MPG my 15 mile round trip commute is now 35 miles, so I hate my car! Why did you feel like you were going to die in the C230? That was on my list for my next car!
