tell me the worst reaction you've experience to announcing you are expecting
Not announcement but the day my twins were born, my SIL announced to the family when in the hospital that they were having their second. Like really? You had your first. This was my first. You could pick literally any other day! Let me and my boys have our day! Not to mention she was only 5 weeks at the time. Like really? You have always been adamant not tell anyone until 12, when she was pregnant with her first and then criticized when I told before 12 weeks. I hate people sometimes! Congrats to you!!!!

Re: tell me the worst reaction you've experience to announcing you are expecting
I have a history of pregnancy losses and my friends know this. When I was early on in my pregnancy with my son, we were with a bunch of close friends for NYE and figured why not...... So we told them.
The first reaction was silence. Everyone just sort of looked at each other awkwardly not knowing what to say. I remember the moment as though it happened 5 minutes ago.
Finally I broke the silence by saying a very awkward "yayyy!!"
Later on I was told by one of the friends that people just didn't know how to react because of my history- like that explanation was supposed to make me feel better.

tell me the worst reaction you've experience to announcing you are expecting
My cousin said "oh I thought I would be the first to have one"
I told my sister early because she was stressing me out so badly with her bipolar issues and she said "well if you lose the baby that's what is meant to be". Hence why I can't stand her to this day...

Same exact thing happened to me when I told my Sis and her older kids. They all just stared at me no sound and I yelled WTH! This is supposed to be a good thing!!!! Then they all laughed and just said they didn't know if they should be happy or reserved bc of my past. Then I told my coworker who was there during all of my miscarriages, IVF stuff and appointments and she burst out crying hugging me. You just never know how people will respond I guess, I give up!

tell me the worst reaction you've experience to announcing you are expecting
My brother and SIL had a miscarriage 2 years before and were having trouble getting pregnant (never told anyone so I had no idea) when I found out. I was nervous to tell them I was pregnant but obviously I had to. So when I told them they sobbed, which made me feel awful and for the rest of my pregnancy barley spoke to me or DH.

tell me the worst reaction you've experience to announcing you are expecting
we had one MC and one ectopic before getting pregnant with DD. My parents and my MIL/FIL knew about this, but that was really it. They knew how badly we wanted this to happen. We told everyone on Christmas, and my MIL made a comment about how stressful it will now be on her because she will have to worry about two showers, a wedding, and the birth of her first grandchild. My SIL was engaged, and the wedding was a couple of weeks after we had DD. MIL made a comment to me privately that this should be SIL's "time" since she had been wanted to get married for awhile, and we already got to have our wedding. She asked that we make an effort to make this time extra special for her. MIL likes to do this privately to me without DH around, because she can turn around and say she never said it, or didn't say it "that way." I've now learned not to have any conversations with her privately, because she is an evil woman!
ETA: with my family, we also announced on Christmas. I was 11 weeks when we told everyone. My older sister then stood up and told us she was pregnant too! She was only 5 weeks at the time, and had just found out. It was so amazing and we were all so happy for each other. I didn't turn around and tell my sister to let me have "my time" because that is such a crock of BS!!! Not sure why people can't just be happy for each other.

To DH, in front of me "are you and your brother in a race?"
Not only rude to us, but that's how we learned our SIL (who had only told parents at this point) was pregnant.....
