Telling work- how long can I hold out
Not really loving my job right now and wanted to wait until after our raise/bonus conversation in January (I'll be 5+ mths then).
I want to do the right thing and dont plan to leave then hanging, but I also dont want the added pressure of them trying to back deadlines into my leave date.
Do I have to tell? When?
How did/would you handle?
TIA

Re: Telling work- how long can I hold out
I told as early as possible, since I m/c'd i knew i would have to go to more dr's appts. I ran to the hospital during work hours to get blood tests, i think my boss knew before my parents! It totally depends on the culture and atmosphere of your office.
I would tell when your comfy, but not too late. It gives you time to prepare for your leave, and the company time to prepare coverage for your leave.
Your pg should not be a factor in a raise, i know mine wasn't, i was on bedrest for 2 months during eval time and i got 13% raise!
I feel if you are honest and upfront, people do the same. JMHO.
Good Luck!
