Temp and ovulation question
Would you still get a rise in your temps if you did not ovulate? Or is a rise in temp a definite sign of ovulation?

Re: Temp and ovulation question
From what I understand, a rise in temp that correlates with your positive OPKS is the best way to confirm ovulation.
I definitely know that a rise in temp is necessary to confirm ovulation -- for example, I have been charting and have actually had postive OPKS without a change in temperature....and no AF to follow. This meant no O. So, that rise in temp is a must!
I did actually get a positive OPK followed by a nice steady rise in temp just a few days ago, accompanied by tender bb's.........a definite O! So, any physical signs/symptoms will definitely help you to confirm your O-Day.
HTH.
Good Luck!

Re: Temp and ovulation question
You can get a rise in temp without o'ing, your chart will be all over the place with no coverline and no sustained higher temps.
When you chart, without using an OPK, the sure way to tell if you o is fertile Cervical fluid and if you have 3 sustained temps above your coverline you can say you most likely o'd.
If you have no coverline, several patches of fertile CF, and rises and drops, you prob didn't o.
Hope that makes sense

Re: Temp and ovulation question
Thanks for your replies. I am not sure if I O'd this month because I never got a peak reading, but for the last 5 or so days, I have been getting high steady temp readings, and unfortunately I stopped testing because I felt like I was wasting the sticks. I will try and post my chart when I get home.
