Temping on clomid. i am so confused!
When I got AF last cycle my temps never dropped, or I should say they didn't drop until CD 13. I started Clomid on CD 3, but I don't know if that had anything to do with it because they didn't drop and go up once I started the clomid.
Fast forward to CD 13, my temp drops and I get a + opk on CD 13, 14, 15, then they go negative. The problem is my temperatures aren't rising significantly. But I don't know if this is because my temps never really dropped so FF can't tell that I had my thermal shift, or that I had an anovulatory cycle, or what.
Does Clomid mess up your temps? I have been temping for years, and my body has never done this before.

Clomid messes up your temps. If I were you, I'd let the doctor do the work and sleep late on the weekends

I agree...you're definitely better off just letting your doc monitor it. Good luck!

I asked my doc what I should be doing at home and she said nothing, what I see at home is certainly not a completely reliable indicator of anything. They are actually seeing what is happening. (if your are being monitored - if this is just a medicated cycle then you might to better with monitoring in the future)

You know that thing with the light? I call it the "fish finder" Let the fish finder find the fish- sono and bloodwork are the only sure indicators of ovulation. Who is your RE?

Re: Temping on clomid. i am so confused!
I don't have an RE yet. My OB works with an RE and they usually do 3 rounds of clomid and if that doesn't work, you switch over the the RE. Which I was fine with because for me everything was going to be out of pocket. BUT my DH just got a new job, and it has partial coverage so I think I am going to make the switch, if it doesn't work this month.
I am so use to temping and seeing my thermal shift, it is hard for me to relinquish control. I am going to put the thermometer down.
Thanks for all the replies ladies!

My re said that while temping was nice in the 50 s and it is a good start on your own we have come a long way since then and it is not necessary with today's technology.
I had a hard time putting the thermometer down too. Do opks work for you? I use those so I still feel some what in control myself.

I used opk's too at first. Then, in conjunction with my RE, I used them too, for IUI. It's just that the RE will do a thorough evaluation of you and DH that will help make the entire picture clear. Good luck!

Yes. They work on me but I have very long surges. I keep peeing on them just to make sure I did catch ovulation.

honestly if you are involving yourself in the care of an RE for infertility, then yes, prepare yourself to be a pin cushion unless you are lucky enough to get pregnant from clomid alone.

Good to know. I like being prepared.
