Tempurpedic Mattress Owners...
DH and I just had our new Tempurpedic delivered yesterday. Two questions:
1. The mattress seems considerably more firm than the one we tried out in Sleepy's. Did this happen to anyone else and did it soften with use at all?
2. I read on the papers that came with the mattress about the unique smell that comes from their manufacturing process. How long does it last and will Febreze or anything like that make it go away faster?
Thanks!

The smell should fade within a few days. As for the firmness, it will soften up with body heat. If your room is cold, it will feel firmer.

The smell will go away.
And it will definitely soften. we have ours for 2 years and I almost think it is a little too soft.

Re: Tempurpedic Mattress Owners...
I have mine for 4 years..it's been so long I don't remember there being a smell It could not have been that much b/c I don't remember.
I did feel a difference on with the mattress on their boxspring than my platform...it's firmer on the platform.
I love the Tempurpedic, so does DH. The only thing I don't like about it is that when we have had to move it, there are no handles like a traditional mattress (at least not on the one I have) and it's a pain to move.

Re: Tempurpedic Mattress Owners...
Thanks everyone. The smell is from the manufacturing process, at least that's what the little tag says. It's almost a sweet smell but not quite, if that makes sense.
All the reviews we read said it takes some getting used to but once you adjust to it, it's the only thing we'll want to sleep on.
We'll see. Sleepy's has the guarantee so I guess we could always exchange it if we decide it's not for us in a couple of weeks.
