Ten Children Hospitalized After Drinking Cleaning Fluid
Little Rock, AR - Hospital officials say 10 children drank windshield wiper fluid after a staffer at a Scott daycare mistakenly put the liquid in a refrigerator and served it.
Doctors estimate the children, ages 2 to 7, drank about an ounce of the blue fluid late Thursday afternoon before realizing it tasted wrong. Only one child remained hospitalized this morning, after blood samples showed "measurable levels" of methanol, a highly toxic alcohol that can induce comas and cause blindness.
Julie Munsell, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Human Services, identified the daycare as being run out of the home of Carolyn Bynum in Scott.
Munsell says Bynum voluntarily relinquished her daycare license on Friday, permanently closing the facility.
Bynum declined to comment about the incident.

Wow, I feel bad for the kids and I hope that worker is FIRED. How do you mistake a jug of cleaning fluid for a drink?!

Some Kool-Aid flavors and other drinks are blue.
But, who on earth puts windshield washer fluid in the refrigerator?????????????

Doesn't matter if she was fired.... They relinquished their license, and the place is closed!
What an idiot to put wiper fluid in the refrigerator!!!!!
