Terrible fert report
9 eggs retrieved
Only 4 were mature
Only 1 fertilized
Worst news ever.
How will I know if the one embryo will even make it until Saturday? I don't want to go in for transfer if it doesn't make it.

I'm so sorry!!!! I know this is absolutely NOT how you wanted this go to. Did they go over the procedure for the transfer?

Yea they are still planning a transfer on Saturday but do not look at the embryos until that morning so it may not even make it.
How is this even possible?
What could cause such poor fert even with ICSI?
My DH has poor morph so I was assuming ICSI would help us but I guess not :/

Once you know what's happening Saturday, I'm SURE your doc will go over what happened and why he thinks that. The thing that helps is that you have excellent IVF coverage so you can go again without it being super tough financially.

My DH is talking with the embryologist now bc I'm freaking out at work :/ all those meds and time and money and I get such a horrible failure of a cycle. They didn't seem too optimistic about the one embryo so I'm just preparing myself.

With my 2nd IVF which resulted in DS, only 3/10 fertilized. I know how you feel. One embryo was practically dying in the Petri dish, so we only had 2 good ones. It only takes ONE.
Don't lose hope yet.

I heard that RS doesn't check on them bc disturbing them can cause more harm. I wonder if they keep to that if there is one lone embryo

This. I know of a lot of 2dt ending is pregnancy.

It only takes one. Don't lose hope now, you're still in the game. My sister went through IVF (her husband was injured at work while she was pregnant with their first and he is now a quadriplegic due to his injuries so they had to do IVF) and by the time she had her transfer she only had one viable embryo. Her doctors were not optimistic at all and tried to prepare her for the worst and she kept telling them, "It only takes one!" She now has a beautiful three year old son from that IVF experience. Good luck to you!! I will keep you in my prayers!
