So glad you posted this!!!! I've been in the market for a car, and DH and I decided to test out the CRV. it is awesome! totally not what I expected. it handles really well and has great pickup even though it only has a 4 cyl and 166 HP. and comes fully loaded with leather & a moon roof for $26K. it gets 28 MPG on the hwy. not bad at ALL for an AWD!

Nice! Are you considering this over the Camary??? well it's definitely a front runner! they are offering sick deals on the Accords right now - $25K for a FULLY loaded v6.
the new Accords will be out in 6-7 months and there will be NO DEALS on those. they will be wait listed for months just like the CRV's are now.
ETA: the new 08 Accords will be around $29K for the v6 loaded model

Re: Test drove the Accord & CRV today
keep in mind that the sales people don't want you to wait to buy they want you to buy now so of course they will try to tell you that it will impossible to get a car for a good price in 08 or in the future. I've leased a ton of cars and Ive heard that over and over again..it never swayed me. I just got what I wanted.
Get what you want.

I got a great deal on a loaded v-6 Accord on a lease- i took it instead of the cr-v b/c it didn't have enough juice for me.

Get what you want. what I want is a great deal, and when the new Accords come out - there will be no deals. they will sell for sticker and I have no doubt that if they look anything like the predictions, they will be wait listed. Accord sedans are one the of the best selling cars in the USA and have never been much to look at IMO. so with the new hot redesign, forget about deals

FYI my salesperson @ my dealership said the same thing about the accords being a great deal next year b/c of the remodel for 08- we did get a pretty good deal and i think we have a lot of car for what we pay... also- you're right- honda accords are consistently rated the best cards in their class.

I've heard that before and I have never had a problem getting any car redisgned or otherwise for a great deal. Get what you want as I said before, but don't be pushed to do something because of what a dealership tells you. You have no idea what will happen when the new cars come out. The dealerships don't get any information on these cars until they come out. Heck, they don't even give the dealerships actual pictures of the cars until a month before they come out.

I must agree that a certain type of car may be hard to get (color, interior, extras), although not impossible. I went to South Shore in VS and I wanted the Coupe in electric blue with black leather interior, V6 with satellite radio. I was told it was impossible to find. 2 dealerships were looking for it and couldn't find it.
It was until I went to Levittown and they had it and I told them that they found one in NJ. And drove it home on Thanksgiving Eve! Dealerships don't like to trade, especially if they are in direct competition. AND, I got an amazing deal like you couldn't believe on my car. Brand new models however, I don't know. I do know that they will say ANYTHING to make a sale. Cars do get very backordered though.....

But I am sure that will be the case, just like it is now with the 07 CR-V's.
