Testing Results
My OBGYN called with the reslts that they got from the fetal testing after my last D&C. The baby had trisomy 16 and it was a girl. I was soooo depressed when I found out the sex. It made it seem so much more real, you know? I was kind of numb about the whole thing until I found that out.

Re: Testing Results
I'm so sorry! I didn't realize they might tell you the sex too....we're supposed to be finding out on the 30th if they have any information from the D&C.....I'm so so sorry, I know how hard this must be on you.

Re: Testing Results
Wait! I just want to share my experience...I had a similar experience and they told me that the chromosomes were 46xx (which means girl) I got VERY UPSET.....it was just so much more awful having known the sex, boy or girl....it made it so awful.
However, I later brought that report to my RE, who explained that if it says on a pathology report 46xx, it likely means that is YOUR chromomosomes, which often get mixed into the same lab tray. If it said "46xx" and that is what they told you, do not assume that was the sex...it is likely YOUR chomosomes (and we know for sure that you are a girl). If you m/c earlier than a certain time frame, it would be impossible to know the sex. I don't want to marginilize what you are feeling b/c it STILL IS AWFUL....but when I heard that it did, in some miniscule way, make me feel just a little bit better.

Re: Testing Results
3 years ago I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and after the testing was done the report came back that it was a boy so it is possible for them to know the sex that early. They test the chromosomes of the fetus. I am a girl obviously lol so I know it wasnt my chromosomes mixed up in the lab sample. Im so sorry Fatih... I love ya

I did not assume that it was a girl. I know that the mother's chromosomes can be mixed up with the sample.
In my case, my doctor told me that they were able to determine the sex and that it was a girl.
I understand that by sharing your experience you were trying to make me feel better. However, coming back to this thread and having to explain/defend the (already painful) infomation I was given actually makes me feel worse.
ETA: I know that wasn't your intention.

Re: Testing Results
I'm so sorry!
I had the same exact experience with my last miscarriage. It was a girl and trisomy 16.
For some reason, it made it sadder when I knew what sex it was. I said "oh, a little girl" when he told me. I had wanted to know, but finding out made the loss of an actual BABY so much more.
It made it harder everytime a saw a little girl or heard someone had a little girl.
Hope you are feeling a little better today. FM me if you ever want to talk

This is exactly what I was told with my 2nd m/c - it came back 46xx - so it just could have been my tissue. I had a blighted ovum, so not really enough tissue.
My 3rd m/c was a boy, Trisomy 21, I was 11w5d. It makes it harder to know the sex, to feel like I should have my son now.

It does make it feel like more of a loss b/c now I have a picture in my mind of what would've been.

All I can say is I am sorry..it's been awhile for me now and I can say it's easier, but you never really let it go.
