Thank yous

DH is a teacher and he received a couple gifts yesterday. His department gave us a gift card and another teacher friend gave some onesies, a doll and a blanket. Should I write a thank you today for him to bring in tomorrow...school is basically over...there's some tests going on but not guaranteed that he'll be able to get the thank yous to the teachers. The one teacher who did a gift on her own I asked DH to get her address for. But for his department...should I wait until next school year and have him bring in a thank you note and a picture of DD? I can send a thank you with him tomorrow...but I don't know how the department will see it.

Re: Thank yous

What about sending an e-mail Thank You to the people in his department? They may have a better chance of seeing an e-mail than a physical thank you since it is the end of the year.

Re: Thank yous

My husband and I are both teachers and just had a baby last week. I sent him in with hand written thank you's for the people who gave him a personal gift. I also hand wrote them for the the few people in his dept. (he handed them to the people or left them in their mailboxes.) The big present from the whole school I wrote out one card for him to leave by the sign in book.

My school I did personal cards left in their mail boxes for anyone who gave me a personal gift and then a tray of cookies and a general thank you card left by the sign in book.

When I got married, I was given my present on the last day of school so then I sent an email.

Hth.

Can you send something in for all the teachers? Maybe like an Edible Arrangement or baked goods with a note thanking everyone for their gifts. I wouldn't wait until next year I personally think that is a little too long.

Great idea! Just texted DH to see if he can do that. Can't think of any other way to get something in front of all the teachers in his department as most of them just have to come in and sign in basically.

Thanks for all the suggestions!!!

I would just write thank yous and leave them in each person's mail box. They don't have a dept. office people stop in to? I usually did one card for the dept and left it on a table in the dept office with a bowl of hershey kisses or other wrapped candy. I would definitely do an individual thank you for the one who gave their own gift and just leave it in her mailbox. She'll get it eventually!

Thank yous

I think an email is perfect. I also wouldn't bother giving them a gift for the gift they gave you.

Agreed! And then once DD is here, you can send a follow-up with a pic if you want maybe wearing the gift they got you.

When there is a shower at my school and everyone contributes the person writes one thank you card and hangs it up above the time clock on the cork board or puts it in the teacher's lunchroom. When individual gifts are given thank you cards are put in mailboxes.
