Re: Just asking - not doing it until I talk to my ped - but Q about formula...
I wouldn't mix up the formula. I would stick with what works for you now. You never know how he could react to the different formula.

Agreed..I did it but I HAD TO! DD was crying for two days in agony and was colicky...Alimentum worked for her.
You said it, why fix it if it aint broke.

I agree with the PP. The ingridents are probably so different to switch to it without a need to, then to switch back wouldn't be good.
Liza, have you tried the Target or Wal Mart generic? The hospital started DS on Similac Advance as well and as soon as knew he did ok on it we switched to the Target (Wal mart is the same exact company making it). It is SO much cheaper with the same ingridents. I believe it is like $13 per can vs. $22 or $23 per can.

Alimentum isn't soy, it's milk based but the milk proteins are pre-digested. My son went on that when he was first diagnosed with a milk protein allergy, but his was more severe and needed to go onto Neocate.
ETA: Isomil is their soy product.

My ds is on alimentum and if your dc doesnt need it dont do it. The smell alone is reason enough not to use it!

I probably wouldn't. But not knowing more about Alimentum, I defer to our NICU nurse!

I agree with everyone just wanted to add you wouldn't want to switch to Alimentum unless its medically necessary it's a lot of $$$

Don't do it unless there is a problem with what he is currently on.

I'm a HUGE fan of generic. I wonder why more people aren't! Emma has done great on it and you cannot beat the price. It's $11.89 at Walmart and Target fluctuates between $10.23 and $11.89, depending on the store.

Summer, it is that cheap out here? I haven't bought it in Suffolk yet. In Brooklyn it was like $13.67 or something. I saw it at Target in Medford for $11.89 and thought it was on sale!! You just made my day

The Medford Target is the one I shop at and it's always $11.89 there. Sometimes it is on sale for $10 and change but it's always that price at Setauket. Strange pricing!

My SIL bought us the stock we have now when we still lived in the city, but I am almost out now.
You are in Selden? My sister used to live on College Road, of course she moved when I move to Holbrook
