Thats it-no more making friends at work!
One of he girls I became VERY close with was let go almost a year and a half ago...
And one girl is being let go this week....
I am sick over it, I am friends with her outside of work-we developed a friendship in the 4 years I have been there...
I am ready to stop making friends at work becuase it makes it THAT MUCH HARDER when they are let go.

I know how you feel. I'm in HR so to avoid being in the position of firing friends, I only befriend good workers. (not saying your friends weren't good workers).
Unsolicited advice: work your tush off. You wouldn't want the associations to rub off on you.

HR has to be hard!
I do work my tush off---in fact I have picked up the pieces of every single person who has left there...and that sucks even more! Who else has had 4 different jobs in the same company in 9 months?

I know how you feel I saw it with my my DH when he got laid off from his job 2 months ago. He was there for 2 years and would go out to dinner once a month with a group from his job and also other gatherings. They miss him there and he hears it from them when we go to dinner.
I learned not to make friends at jobs for other reasons.
