The Assistant strikes again....
I haven't given you guys an update in awhile, so I figured I'd give ya some entertainment...
So I go upfront to grab something off the fax machine about 10 minutes ago. There is this random girl sitting in our lobby. The Assistants door is shut (I should point out that she shares an office with our office manager who I'll call Sue) I asked the girl if she's being helped and if there's anything she needs. She tells me she's here to meet Sue to pick up a package. (the girls brother works in our MN office and he was having something shipped to our office for her to pick up). I ask how long she's been waiting, she tells me about 45 minutes. I ask her if she'd like a glass of water or anything.. she's like "OMG.. a glass of water would be WONDERFUL". I knock on the Assistants office, here's the convo:
Me: Do you know there is a girl waiting for a package in the lobby?
Assistant: yeah, Sue isn't here, so she said she'd wait.
Me: Did you call Sue to see where she was? - on a side note, Sue has been known to take 3 hour lunches when her boss is out of town, so if someone is here waiting for her, ya never know how long she might be.. that's what cell phones are for.
Assistant: Oh no, you think I should?
Me: might be a good idea.
she calls Sue.. like I figured she's at her apt. in Chelsea taking a nap and watching her soaps.
Assistant: She said she'll come back.
Me: Did you look around for the package she's waiting for? Did you call the MN office and ask for a tracking number? Did you offer the poor girl a drink of water? Have you checked on her to see if she's BREATHING?
Assistant: she said she'd wait for Sue.
Me: (i notice a package on Sue's desk) There's a pretty large box on Sue's desk.. who's it for?
Assistant: oh yeah, DSL dropped that off about an hour ago..
Me: Did ya check to see who it was for? who it was from?
Assistant: no, I just signed for Sue.
I walk over, the package is for the poor girl sitting in our lobby for the past 45 minutes!
COMMON SENSE.. DOES IT NO LONGER EXIST?!

And here's the IM I just get...
"hey, is it ok if i leave at 4 today? my friend is in a weird situation and i dont want her to go meet this guy to get her phone by herself"
This girl has a lot of drama when it comes to phones does she not?..lol
Considering I was planning on bailing early, I told her she could leave at 4:15 if all her work was done and nothing new came in from not till then...

He also calls her 5 minutes before he's ready to leave for the day to have her go press the elevator button and hold it for him... She deserves a little nap and some soaps from time to time...

See, people like this need to learn that it is OK to have unspoken thoughts! Couldn't she just have said she has a personal matter to attend to? Why tell your boss all the drama?

DEAD serious! When my company has board meetings with our partners.. they get all fancy and use fine china.. Sue has to hand wash the china... it's not dish-washer friendly...

But that assistant is a waste of cells. I know how I am around people like that - I'd be yelling at her constantly! I have no tolerance..
