The balls on some people I swear
Anyone ever tell you they just flat out HATE your name selection? Next person that does is catching a swollen knuckle sandwich I can assure you

Yes, my mother, father and sister. My brother didnt' care less. But those other three sure didn't hold back on their opinion!! Reason why we aren't telling anyhone DC#2's name. I don't want to hear anyone's trap.  But of course now that Xavier here it's all about Baby Xavier and the million nicknames they have for him.

Xavier is Adorable to me! and I hear ya on being scared it's really starting to get to me that I can't be excited to share it with people! I'm not naming him/her saturn or friggin lamp shade why comment negativly? I wouldn't dare! Its not my child, and I know it comes with the territory bc all my brothers have different names but still Lock it up! Or Preggy over here will Lock it for ya lol

We only told a few people. My dad is not one of them, since we don't really get along and he's an a$$hole.
Anyway, I spoke to him today and he tried to goad me into telling him. When I refused, he said something like, "I hope to God it's not something like ______ " and all I could think was, what if it was that name?
The moral of the story is that people don't THINK before they say stupid $hit, and it bugs me to no end.

This is exactly why DH and I did not tell anyone! When people ask me, I just say, "We're really not sure, yet." I have experienced first hand family members saying those things behind the mom's back once the baby is born and named and I figure if that happens, at least I don't have to hear it! When women are pregnant, people feel free to say ANYTHING to them.

My SIL did that to me with my first. To the point that it made me question it and I CHANGED it. Do I regret it? Not really...but it does annoy me!!!!

Yep a few people told me they hated the name Lara at first i was hurt and then i said to myself what do i really care if they dont like it me and dh do thats all that matters.
Some people can be really rude dont let them bother you
if i have another baby the name will not be told to anyone though

Wow! That is ballsy. I really don't want to tell anyone the baby's name until he/she is born. Now controlling DH on that is going to be another thing. He can't keep his mouth shut about anything.  So we'll see.

That really is horrible. DH and I decided we aren't telling anyone the name we pick until LO is born because we don't want to hear anyone's opinion. People are so rude when it comes to stuff like this. We just don't want to hear a hint of a negativity about whatever we decide to go with.

Two of my closest co workers asked me what my name choices were.
I said "right now, we like Alison and Alyssa. But I think it's going to be Alison"
They both made a face and said "ugh. Alison is so plain. Why would you even think of using that?"
I smiled and replied with "honestly, I don't give a sh*t what either of you think"
