I swear I was thinking this exact thing yesterday! I tried on jeans that technically fit but weren't flattering at all. They were only $10 so I was going to buy them (Old Navy) but I stopped myself.
My fashion advice comes from Stacy and Clinton  Fit the size you are NOW, not the size you want to be, and don't put off buying clothes because you want to lose weight, or else you won't feel confident at all.

1) Ignore the size on the label and buy what fits even if the size doesn't "make sense."
2) A tailor is your friend.
3) It is usually harder to tell that an items is of cheap quality when the item is black.
4) Go shoe shopping near the end of the day when your feet are slightly swollen -- if the shoe isn't comfortable then, it will never be comfortable.

If you are wearing loose fitting pants - wear a fitted shirt!

Wear nude color bras under white shirts!!!!
White bras should be banned. They don't go under anything, especially a white tee or a black top. The only colors they should make bras in should be a nude color and black.

- Don't buy something just because it's in style, not every trend is going to look good on you.
- Sometimes just a tiny alteration can really make something fit perfectly, and is worth the extra money
- When in doubt, choose solids over a print.

Maybe not fashion, but:
always wash your face and brush your teeth before bed.
moisturize
keep your makeup simple
change your shoes at work
always bring a sweater 
look in a mirror from all directions before you leave.

Don't buy something if it doesn't make you feel great and you don't want to wear it then and there I now ask myself this!
Agree with wear the size you are now!!! Don't squeeze yourself into something too small- it will only make you look bigger.

I used to only wear black - until my mid 20's. Someone told me I should wear color - and I'm so happy I finally agreed to take chances with prints and colors... not sure if it's fashion advice - but it got me away from black!

These are mine too!
I used to buy tons of things just bc they were on sale..and then I a closet full of clothes with tags on cuz I never wore them!
And I've found myself thinking, if only I had this shirt in white..it would look great wiht this outfit..So, now I do. Especially basics like a cardigan.
