1) Lobster Bisque at LG Smith's Steakhouse in Aruba
2) Creamy tomato bisque in Bread Bowl in a hole in the wall restaurant in Switzerland. I had no idea what I was ordering and was pleasantly surprised!

Avgolemono (greek chicken lemon soup) made by my Yia Yia and I also love it from Athenian Greek Taverna in Commack.
Love the cream of turkey from the diner across from Babylon Town Hall

I love Ben's Matzoh ball soup
I love french onion and I think the best I had was at Tellers
And the best soup I ever ate, all around, was the Lobster Bisque at Palm Upper West in NYC. With a gigantic tail sticking straight out of the center of the bowl -- omg great!
And homemade soup - the best one I ever made was Ina's (Barefoot Contessa) Pappa Al Pomodoro soup... It was fantastic!!

My chicken soup. I've had the good fortune to have 3 generations give me all of their secrets.
The family agrees..mine is the best.
Also the split pea from the Celebrity Diner on Jericho. They have insane prices for food but every now and then I go there for the soup. They toast up these croutons to go with it. Blows my mom's pea soup away. It's all vegetarian too. I like it that way.

My mother makes awesome Chickarina soup. Most of our family recipes have been passed down from my great-grandmothers, who each raised 11 kids, so they knew how to cook!
As far as restaurant soups, Yesterday's Cafe in Bay Shore makes an awesome Pasta Fagioli.

Probably my grandmothers lentil soup. But I just recently had the butternut squash soup at Cebu and it was AMAZING! DH and I could not stop talking about it.

I went to grad school at Miami University (of Ohio...I know). There's this small restaurant in the town called Kona, and they have a Southwest Crab & Corn Chowder soup. It's soup perfection. I tried finding the recipe a few times to no avail. YUM.

Beer Cheese Soup! I used to work at Sgt Peppers in Elwood say 97-98 and the chef made this. Sooo good.
I also like Paneras tomato soup
I also had an oyster stew at an ex bf's mom's house that was AMAZING but could never replicate it

Butternut Squash and Crab soup from Whole Foods. It is so good. In fact, I replicated the recipe and it came out exactly the same as Whole Foods.

No Lake Grove. But I was at another one one time and that was their soup on a Sunday too. Guess it's a popular trend!

My Dad's Chicken & Dumplings.. I know it's not technically SOUP.. but it feels like it. And it's sooo good - warms your tummy and your soul. No problem was ever too big to be overcome by Daddy's Chicken and Dumplings. I remember he made it whenever I was sick and when I was scared about going off to school and for my first major heartbreak.

The sancocho from Sofrito in Manhattan. It taste like my grandmas. Its like a stew packed with chicken, beef, some people add pork, hearty veggies, the taste is unbelievable. I love Sofrito! Its around the corner from my apartment. I've never tried the soup there but I'll have to remember to try it next time I'm there!
Yes try the sanchocho and I highly recommend the pernil (pork shoulder) be warned it is huge...enough for 2 people, oh and the mojito too
