The big plastic decorations in people's lawns

I HATE these things. There is a house near us that must have about 50 blow-up plastic Halloween "things" in their yard. They just look so cheap to me. Buy some pumpkins or something....that looks so much better than the plastic lawn decorations.

Couldn't agree more. Hate them.

I have mums and pumpkins.

But I agree, 50 is a little ridiculous. We have two blowups, a metal arch from Target, a few other metal decorations, and two big pots of mums.

I dont really like them...BUT I really love the blow up christmas tree!! Just the tree by its self....but i cant find it anywhere anymore!

i guess that is better because I think my husband would kill me if I got one!!

I despise them (I'm pretty traditional in decorating), BUT I might consider them once my daughter gets old enough to enjoy them.

Re: The big plastic decorations in people's lawns

what I hate about those huge blow up things is that when they're not on, they're deflated and flat on the ground! I used to think they were all brokenChat Icon

Re: The big plastic decorations in people's lawns

i like them but maybe 1 or 2...50 is definitely too many! For Christmas time my dad has a ginormous santa hugging a reindeer! My niece and nephews love it and look forward to seeing it every year! He does it for them really...

I can't stand them and comment on them every time DH and I drive past them on people's front lawns. I told him we are not having them when we move into our house.

Re: The big plastic decorations in people's lawns

if my child wanted them, and it made them happy, my child would get them

however, i do sdespise them and think they are tacky as hell, but then again, what are holidays for?

Re: The big plastic decorations in people's lawns

haha - we always drive by a house in Ronkonkoma that for every holiday has their front yard completely full of those blow up things.

I find it hilarious! Chat Icon

don't kids go around every year and puncture them? And they're not cheap either - $100 I think.

not something I would ever display in my yard. but to each his own.

I don't like them at ALL.

Of course the guy across the street from me seems to have stock in them...just my luck!! Maybe that's why I dislike them SO much. Chat Icon

Re: The big plastic decorations in people's lawns

I don't decorate at all...but I think some things done tastefully are okay. HOWEVER, 50 of these stupid plastic thingies is RIDICULOUS, when you are unwilling to even paint your broken down dump of a house...hello spend the money wisely!

Sorry, I just pass this one house on my way to work, that is sooooo gross. I get not having money to do things, but for every season they have nine bazillion ugly decorations, and I know these things arent that cheap.Chat Icon
