The car seat bag to take on the plane

My mother picked one up for me and its a black vinyl bag with pockets on the side.

I will be able to check this and not have to pay for it? Just wondering because since's its black you can't see what's inside. Not sue if it had to be clear.

Yes - it's still free. I've seen people with those on the flights I've been on gate checking car seats. I have a large red bag (like a laundry bag) for my infant seat and I haven't had an issue.
