she went directly to the drawer just to get the money. She didn't dust the vanity at all. She move the chair to get at the drawer.

IIRC I think she stole from her the week before too, so she probably knew there was money in there again.

Wow. I hope they don't let her take a plea, and I hope that a jury of her peers sees this--smiles and all, and hears the testimony about what made you set this up in the first place (suspected theft)--and does the right thing.
Good for you for not taking it. I'm sorry that you had this happen---what a violation of trust after you hire someone and let her into your house.
Does she work for herself or for a company? If it's a company, I hope they understand that they are responsible for hiring decent people & that their reputation, not just hers, will suffer once she is successfully prosecuted.
ETA: And to steal from a child's room!
