The Danger Ranger vs. Fun Dad...yet another situation.

Josh is going tubing in the mountains on his 3rd b-day. He can't ride solo, only with DH.

I suggested a helmet is to be worn.
But, its on a clear path where there aren't any trees.

I already realize I have problems. He's the only one at the rink with a helmet.

thanks...dh seriously thinks I am kidding.

But he's also starting snowboarding, where even on bunny hills I want a helmet worn at all times...I want him to think snow=helmet

Definitely yes! I am totally the 'danger ranger' as well, although my DH calls me the 'fun police' with a 'whoop whoop' and everything

Absolutely! I plan on making ds wear one when he starts skiing this year! Tubing actually scares the cr@p out of me sometimes! I think it is a great idea!

Absolutely...we went tubing last year & DH flipped off the tube (in one of those tubing places) & landed upside down, almost w/ a concussion. Another teacher at work ended up w/ a broken arm tubing (not to scare you)....but definitely a helmet.

Absolutely he should wear a helmet.

If I'm not mistaken, ski / snowboard school students are mandated to wear helmets. I would have a child that young wear a helmet for any snow sport.

I think it's a good idea that you have him wear a helmet at the rink too. He's learning and likely to fall a lot. Better safe than sorry.

Helmet! There doesn't need to be trees for their to be head injuries. Your DC is young, at that age their head weighs more then their necks can really support. When they lose their balance the head hits hard b/c of the size in proportion to their body. It is just not worth the risk. A small bump can causing internal bleeding. He could slide off and bump his head on the snow. Tell DH to suck it up helmet it is.
