The dreaded daycare phone call
Hi Christine, Roman has a 101.5 fever he needs to get picked up. NO SHEET people it's called teething!
note to self give Motrin before dropping off tomorrow

I think 101.5 is high for teething. He may actually have something else. Hope he feels better

anything over 101 is not considered teething. I would give the ped a call about that...

When Jack had a fever and was drooling so much recently I thought he was teething. When I took him to the ped he told me teething will not cause a fever (he said this is a myth) and it turned out he had an ear infection and a sore throat, which explained the drooling.

yeah - my dr made me come a couple weeks ago and my son was running only about a little over a 100. I told her I thought it was his molars (which were just about pushing there way thru and he was drooling and coughing and runny nose) and she said teething doesn't cause fevers that high. He had some kind of infection and needs meds. He did get his 2 tops molars with the nezt couple of weeks of that but she called it coincidence. I hear sometimes with teething their immune systems may be lower and at more risk to catch other stuff.
