How do you mark your stuff so it doesn't get mixed up at daycare? And other daycare questions.

I was remembering posts about people saying that their DC came home with someone else's bib/clothes/bottle. I was wondering, how do you even mark the bottle/bottlecap/etc as yours?

As a side note to this, do you leave your diaper bag at the daycare filled with everything DC needs for the day? Or do you leave things there?

Do you change the crib bedding yourself there and take stuff back to be washed, or do they do that there if you leave your own stuff with them?

Things I forgot to ask while we were looking at places. TIA!

My kid isn't at daycare yet, but I got some great labels at this website called
Easy2Name in the UK but something else in the states and the labels are totally amazing, they are dishwasher safe and they look so cute! I also got some iron on labels for his clothes. I knwo some nuserys will supply of things like sippy cups, but I will still label everything of Noah's

I think each center has their own policy w/the sheets, ours supplies them and washes them daily.

Sometimes I leave the diaper bag there if he needs alot of stuff that day, usually on Mon. when I'm bringing in fresh blankets, clothes, etc. or if he needs his boogie sucker/saline drops.

I write on the bottles w/a Sharpie. I have to go over it after a few washes. I write his name on his bib and blanket tags and the outside of his paci. Probably overkill but that's OK ;)

I send a sheet/blanket every monday comes home to be washed on fridays.

I also send his food in those tossable bowls (that I reuse but don't care if they disappear) I mark them with a sharpie. Same with his sippy cup.

I put a piece of masking tape on each of Peyton's bottles & caps and write her name on the tape. This worked the best for me because if I wrote on the bottle, it would smudge off.

They have a cubby for her where I put her change of clothes, bibs, extra sheets. They have a separate place for her wipes, diapers, ointment.

I take the sheet home every night and wash it. I have extra sheets there so I don't have to bring it back the next day.

i bought labels from babylabel.com that are water and heat resistant. They are on some of her clothes and others are sharpied and they can go on her spoons, bowls, bottles which can also go in the dishwasher.

Those are cute! I think a pack of those and a sharpie will do the trick. Thanks!

Re: How do you mark your stuff so it doesn't get mixed up at daycare? And other daycare questions.

At our center i

1-label all bottles and caps with blue painters tape, then write her name on the tape with permanent marker(I was the one who they put someone else caps on DD's bottles!)

2-I label her bibs with a black fabric pen with her initials either on the back or on the tag and anything that stays there. I have gone as far as put aside "daycare" clothes that are solely labled for her to wear to daycare only as well as bibs.

3-She has everything she needs at daycare and they let us know 2-3 days ahead of time when she needs wipes, water, formula, diapers. Our center requires 2 full set of clothes to be left there on hand at all times.

4-We only bring her bottles and paci's back and forth with us everyday.

At the end of each week we strip her bed and take home all her toys, sheets, bibs, blanket, wash them and put her sheets back on the next working day.

We have a little kiddy backpack that goes back and forth with her, we also have a jacket everyday too cause if the weathers nice in the spring/summer/fall they take them for walks.

They have a little cubby for her too and a rubbermaid container under her crib labeled for storage of extras and things they use all the time like bibs and paci's.

We don't leave her carseat there since Dh and I commute together, but we could leave it we wanted.

1. You can put your child's initials on everything. If there are other kids with the same initials you can put the first name/last initial or first initial/last name.

2. I don't leave a diaper bag there. She has a cubby. I bring wipes and diapers on the 1st and 15ht of the month. She has an extra blanket, bibs and changes of clothes there.

3. Every Friday I pick up her sheet and blanket and stuff, wash it and bring it back on Monday all clea.

As for bottles, I got sharpee pens and a roll of clear packing tape. I wrote his name on bottles and tops and covered it very well with tape. Taht way 1) DS isn't touching the pen markings and putting his fingers in his mouth and 2) it won't wash off.

I also bought pacifier clips where I could write his name on the clip part.

I put his name on some labels but it didn't work too well..
