The good, the bad, the weird... LONG
I saw Dr. Rosenfeld yesterday at NSUH.
Since our initial consult he had DH do another SA. DH did the first one at RSofNY.
Well, bad news. The doc doesn't like his count of 17 million. He considers anything under 60 million, combined with my issue, a problem for IUI.
I am soooooooo P I S S E D at RSofNY. We went there for 7 months and DH produced 4 samples the highest count being 38 million and the lowest being 15 million and NOONE there ever said anything to us about a low sperm count for our situation.
Whatever the issues was it was always... "Oh, just be patient. Oh, no evertying looks great" I was so angry that I wasted 7 months of my life at that place. Yes, I know some women have gotten pregnant there but, honestly, every woman I've known got preggos in the first couple of months and responded to their "general" treatment that they give EVERYONE. There is no individualized care at all. I should have known when I once overheard a patient giving her D.O.B. to one of the nurses and she was 50 years old How dare they just take some people's money. I'm sorry I am so angry but it is so upsetting to know I was wasting PRECIOUS time
The good news... He said because we both have issues he'll try an IUI this cycle (because it's too late to start the IVF drugs) and if that doesn't work we are straight onto IVF. Most likely, that's the only way it could happen.
He did a sonogram and I HAVE AN EGG!!!! I've been on the Metformin for about two weeks now. I still have a build up of Clomid in my system so who knows what really worked? We should be going in for an IUI in the next few days.
If the IUI doesn't work, being a teacher, I really only have the summer to do IVF this so I really hope the either the IUI works or the first try at IVF.
After I told DH all of this he was not his normal self. Usuallly, he is so optimistic and is a goof-ball. He was so unbelievably quiet, no jokes, nothing. All he said to me was "It's so hard knowing that your body isn't doing what it just naturally is supposed to do." Of course I said, yes, unfortunately now you know how I have felt all this time.
Reality finally hit him. Chances are it would NEVER happen for us w/o any intervention and it looks like now IVF is our only hope as I'm in the 35 plus age bracket.
On the weird note: DH's hippy flower-child aunt calls us right after we talk about it. She made him swear he wouldn't tell me but I overheard. She's quite intuitive and said she "just knows" I'll be pregnant this month... she "just knows". She's been right about stuff in the past so
Please pray that the IUI is tomorrow or Sunday. It won't look good if I miss Monday after having a week and a half off from school. I also have no sub plans prepared.
That's it. Sorry so long but I know there are a lot of lurkers on here who benefit from the details.

Fingers crossed for some flower-power and baby dust this month!
That is so frustrating about RSofNY but at least you're seeing someone who's being proactive now.

Fingers crossed for you - I totally empathise (sp) with you about RE and the info you jsut shared about counts... well, shall we say that we are int eh same situation - RSNY totally wasted a year of our lives.
But we're both on to better places now

Yeah, I don't know I'll ask him when I see him for my follow up.
Yesterday, DH had a count of 25 million but that was after abstaining for 3 days, after our IUI at 10am yesterday we BD'ed early evening and so this morning he only had 3 million. He was complaining his stomach hurt off and on this morning.
I had him come into the room with me this time. Big mistake because he was asking me tons of questions then he started asking me questions about work After being off for a week and a half and not opening up my bookbag please don't get me aggravated about starting a conversation about work
Dr. Chu did another sono this morning, right after IUI #2 and there was no egg so I ovulate on my own
Back to the reality of preparing for school tomorrow
