omg so good. Here is a summary:
The story is told in the first person by a woman called Offred. The character is one of a class of women with healthy reproductive systems, in an era of declining birth rates owed to increasing infertility. These women are forcibly assigned to produce children for the ruling class and are known as "handmaids. Offred describes her life during her third assignment as a handmaid, in this case to Fred (referred to as "The Commander"). Interspersed with her narratives of her present-day experiences are flashback discussions of her life from before and during the beginning of the revolution, when she finds she has lost all autonomy to her husband, their failed attempt to escape to Canada, and finally her indoctrination into life as a handmaid by government-trained women called "Aunts".

oh I think I will watch!!
And to add:
Her name is Offred TODAY. She takes the name of the commander of the home. SO if she moves homes and the master is Howard, her name becomes Ofhoward.
Watch last season before you watch this. You will be on your seat the whole time, and this season will make sense.

The book ended the same as the season 1 finale.

Serena Joy was an author, a writer... and she would love to write, hold a pencil. she was envying the pencil and paper. They are not allowed to have that stuff.
