The hits keep on coming...
My dr. just called to give me the results of DHs SA. He said everything looked good and normal EXCEPT the morphology (I think)- he said he only has 3% "normal" shaped sperm.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? I"m FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW AND HYSTERICAL!!! He suggested artificial insemination but isn't that what IUI is? Please help me to understand this. It's going to be a long day...

Firstly 
3% is not entirely horrible. My RE explained they look for a range starting at 5% to be normal. (My DH had 0%morphology on his first SA and when they retested him, it was only at 1%)
Did they indicate they wanted to retest? SA's can vary from test to test, so I would ask if they would retest him to see if the morphology goes up.
And yes, artificial insemination is the same as IUI

I heard that taking antioxidants can help with morphology. DH has morphology issues and he takes Pycnogenol and CO-Q 10. It's supposed to help and it did because DH's morphology went up some. They said environment among other things can affect morphology. I think morphology is one of the most common issues with MF.

DH also has very poor morphology. Our RE said not to weight this so heavily as IUI can help with poor morphology.

you could try fertility blend for men-or look on Google there is tons of info out there on what vitamins improve morphology

I would look into vitamins and herbs for male fertility - and I think you need to sit down with DH and explain everything to him.
Honestly, you are going to have a tough time with this in the future if he isn't on board - especially now that he has a problem.
I really feel for you....

Thanks everyone. I'm at my ILs house from yesterday afternoon thru Sunday morning and it's hard to be around other people (even family) right now. I just want to crawl into bed and come out when I feel better. 
My MIL has been thru all of this herself 28 years ago, (DH and his siblings are all adopted) and is helping me get thru this but it's still hard.
I called my RE this afternoon to find out what dose of injections I'm supposed to give myself tonight as well as if I have to go to the lab tomorrow. We'll see what happens...

Did they not tell you when you needed to come back in for monitoring?
They had me on 75 for the first 2 days and tonight will be my 3rd injection- i had to wait to get the bloodwork back to check my estridiol level and the dr. called me after my post this afternoon to tell me for the next 3 days to bump it up to 150 and that then on monday morning i'll go in for bloodwork again and a sonogram.

So sorry you have to deal with this on top of everything else DH has poor morphology as well- only 4% normal on the WHO scale (20% being normal). Unfortunately for us, we also have low post-wash counts and low motility. But there is a lot of discussion as to what affect morphology actually has on fertility. Like if the defect is in the tail, the head is fine and should be able to fertilize the egg if it is somehow able to reach it. Anyway, definately get him antioxidants. I don't know if they help, but we are trying!!! I hope things start working out for you, I know how it feels to keep being kicked when you are down

It's the heads that are abnormal. They said 74 percent had abnormal shapes and 23% had smaller heads than normal... then 3% normal.

IUI is artifical insemination yes...
I would suggest you attempt to get Dh to see a urologist. There could be health reasons for this that could be serious.
My DH's was 5-6% on his SA's and my RE immediately sent us to a urologist to make sure all was ok with DH.
Then he went on supplements to try to improve the quality.
We were in the midst of IUI alreadys...we had 13 altogether but were not lucky with them.
The count is going to matter a lot with morp results like those.
