The hour I first believed (possible spoilers)
Anyone else dissapointed? I really had high hopes but skimmed most chapters. Mostly the ones having to do with the mother/not mother. It got way too confusing.
Also, why are all his male characters jerks? Is it just me, but the main character in I Know This Much Is True, was a real jerk.
Thoughts?

Loved the beginning- and then it started to get so weird when the whole thing with the Lizzy Popper letters started.
I was very shocked at the end. Call me naive, but I didn't see that one coming. When I really really started thinking about the book as a whole, I did actually like it- but it was very s l o w for awhile there- and I almost stopped reading it.

ditto, I was very surprised at the ending. and I did put it down for awhile and finally picked it up to just finish it.

ITA! I felt it was a little drawn out in the middle but overall I really enjoyed this book. I dont think it was his best but I still really liked it. I was also very shocked by the ending

Re: The hour I first believed (possible spoilers)
I liked it.
I liked the Lizzie Popper letters too - but what I did was skip over the letters and finished reading the book - then I went back and read just the letters - easier to follow.
I wasn't shocked at the ending but it was sooooo, um, abrupt? He summed up everyone's life in like three pages. I felt like he just got tired of writing this novel and decided to end it and wrap everything up.
I do love the way he writes though.

I am on page 530 and seriously considering not finishing it. Why the heck did he go off on such a tangent like this?
