The Importance of Follow-up Questions
"Mommy, I need help finding my baby doll. She needs a bath too."
"Ok"
"Wait. Don't go in my room."
"Why not?"
"I don't want you to get dirty!"
"Why would I get dirty?"
"Well, don't touch the basket." (The basket with her blanket & toys in it).
"Ok.....Maddie...is your blanket dirty?"
"No."
"Are you toys dirty?"
"No."
"Oh...ok" (lift up the basket to try to find the doll)
"My basket is dirty. I went pee-pee in it."
 "WHAT?!"
"I had an accident."
"What do you mean? You peed in the basket?"
She says in the exact same voice I use "Well, yes...sometimes you have accidents. It's ok. I'll try again next time."

Before we went to bed we had the "Importance of Telling Mommy AND DADDY When There's an Accident" talk. It ended with "and we don't want our house to smell like pee-pee".

and this is why I'm in no hurry to fully PT my son. Well, that and the fact that he confused my rug w/ the toilet the other day...
The thing is ..she's been potty trained since she was about 2-1/2. She just had an accident (hence the "it's ok..." commen).
