The longer we wait...
the more comfortable and amazing life is as a trio...and the less I want to mess with it
We did an amazing early dinner on the water on Friday. I went out with the girls for some dancing on Friday night. Slept late on Saturday, dropped DH for boys' day out for Belmont and hung all day with Bella shopping and grabbing dinner together. Sunday was beach day and a family nap in the AC together. It was amazing and I am STILL smiling over it. No screaming, bedtime without a peep...awesomeness.
I love our family...I love our dynamic...do I want to add to that with more stress? I work FT and LOVE it... I still love babies, but now I am SOOOO torn.

Re: The longer we wait...
I hear you! It's such a hard decision. I know we will be trying for #2 within the next 6 months, but I am so nervous about it.
It sounds like you had such a great weekend. I do think it will just be hard with #2 for a little while and then you'll get back into a comfortable life again. It won't ALWAYS be stressful and the good times will outweigh the bad.

Re: The longer we wait...
I think it's a temporary thing...
What I mean is this...I often find myself thinking, "If I only had Katherine right now X, Y or Z would be a breeze..." But then I remind myself that a year from now Abby will be 2 and I'll have 2 little sidekicks...instead of one sidekick and one ball and chain!!
Sounds like a perfect weekend!!!!

Trust me, I know! Every day that my youngest gets older and I move further and further away from anything that deems her a "baby", I am loving life more. It just gets easier and I am enjoying it more.... Then the baby feelings hit like a ton of bricks!

you explained it to a tee...
thanks guys...we aren't TTC-ing until early next year-ish as I just got a new job and well, daycare for two is a bit crazy. But I wanted to do it sooner rather than later until now. Now I am just perma-grin girl...
it doesn't help that NONE of our friends have babies really...so maybe it will change when they start popping out kids

Re: The longer we wait...
Amazingly enough, despite my troubles with IF for about a year now, I can relate on some level.
Sometimes I get so caught up in the process of just trying to have a baby, that I forget what it really all entails once that little sucker pops out of you.
I have moments like you all the time, these just incredible, touching, sweet moments with Dh and Alex, and I think to myself, life is just perfect as it is, at this very moment.
But, then I get these pangs, thinking that I may never have the opportunity again to go through these milestones with another, may never have the opportunity to watch in awe as my child develops his/her own unique, amazing, awe-inspiring little personality, and I'm quickly thrown back into the throes of wanting another.
Think about it this way though, with Bella older, it will certainly be easier having another, with Bella out of diapers, and helping you out with the baby.

Re: The longer we wait...
I def know how you feel. I felt that way before TTC for #2. But now that I am PG, I am soooe excited. Andrew is going to be a great Big Brother and have a playmate
Yes it will be hard at first but then once they are both in the independent stage, it is going to be sooo great.

Re: The longer we wait...
I'm going through this right now too. I'm just starting an IVF cycle for #2 and sometimes I just stop and think, what am I doing??? Life is so perfect right now. But then I think about the future and how wonderful a big brother my son will be and how better our bigger family can be. These past 2 years have flown by. They've been tough but the next 2 will just fly by too.

I know, and I definitely want another child. But life just felt so complete this weekend
Beth, I understand what you mean, Bella will be an AWESOME big sis, as will Alex. Although, with their strong spirit, I feel sort of bad for their potential younger siblings...and if they are stronger than Bella and Alex, well then I just feel bad for us

Re: The longer we wait...
I definately share these feelings with you. As Steven gets older, the prospect of #2 slowly diminishes. Now I no longer say "when I have another" now I say "if I have another."

Re: The longer we wait...
With a newborn and a 20 month old, I find myself saying...wow if it was just DS, we could just hop in the truck and go here..if it was just DS we could go out to dinner right now...BUT then I see my son and nephew play together and they are 20 months apart and I can't wait until my 2 kids are doing the same~ I also think how FAST 20 months came and went..so before I know, the new born stage will be gone and I will have a toddler on my hands
ETA: I am also thankful that DD is a GREAT baby..totally different than DS

I could've written this post word for word (well I would exclude the part about working FT and loving it- because I hate working )
I KNOW I want more- I just dont know when or how...

Re: The longer we wait...
I understand too. My pregnancy blood pressure issues seem to still be lingering a year+ later, and it's made me wonder if it's a good idea to even try for another- too many what-ifs.
And since we're not rolling in dough, I think about all the travel and other experiences DD could have because there would be a little more money avaiblable for stuff like that.

Re: The longer we wait...
When you add a forth to your dynamic it will be amazing but in a different way. Plus to see your two babies having this wonderful relationship that is different then all their other relationships. Well there is just nothing like it. My kids love each other so much it warms my heart
ETA: For the longest time I only wanted just one child too.

Re: The longer we wait...
My 2 girls are getting older (8 & 5) and we have a great time when it is just us (my son will be 3 in August and puts a different spin on going "out and about"). On Sat my son was in the city with my parents all day so it was just me and the 2 girls and we went shopping, went to lunch, went to the mall, stopped and got iced coffees (decaf for them), it ws sooooooo perfect, I just can't wait until my son can join us, as he gets older i will get easier, but we are planning for #4 so I guess we will start all over. I alwasy wanted 4 or 5 kids, but I can understand what you are saying. There is nothing that says you can;t wait a few more years so you can enjoy Bella
