Of all the ways that people say you can get labor started?

I want to have this for when I'm nearing the end!

If everyone adds to this thread, I'll fix the post title and call it the official whatever thread... that could be a good reference!

It's like a yoga ball, I used it when I was in labor to help with pain relief. I'm not sure where you can buy one that is considered a birthing ball, but I'm sure a yoga ball from target or a sporting goods place would be good!

What she said Chat Icon You can buy just a regular yoga/exercise ball and pay half the price because it is not called a birthing ball. They have tons on Amazon as well. They are great for Labor and posture to help with avoiding back labor.

Nothing worked for me except telling my MIL off (in a nice way of course!) I went into labor that night only hours later. Chat Icon As soon as the stress was gone...

What didn't work:

- walking
- raking leaves
- putting furniture together
- sex

Spicy food (extreme hot wings!)
Bouncing on a yoga ball
Red wine

ETA-I think Evening Primrose Oil and I think raspberry leaf tea. I could be wrong on both counts. I could be wrong on all counts!

My friend walked to a childrens park and went on the slide. She went into labor that night. Not sure if this would be considered safe, but it worked for her. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I walked a LOT - the neighborhood, the mall, costco, grocery store, etc.

The day I went into labor, I did 50 squats and went up and down my parents staircase about 5 times Chat Icon

The night before my water broke I ate mexican food, had a cup of raspberry leaf tea and took a warm bath. By 6:30 am... contractions were 3 minutes apart and then water broke.

I can say both of these worked for me - TMI, I'm sure.

Castor oil got things moving, and when my labor slowed after 20 hrs, they suggested nipple stim and boy did that move it along....

Will probably try them both again next week -- looks like baby #2 will be just as late as #1 was.... Chat Icon
