The old Toys R Us on 347 in Lake Grove
Does anyone know what is going here? They are definitely getting it ready for something...

Re: The old Toys R Us on 347 in Lake Grove
I heard they were moving Trader Joe's into that location but that's probably just a rumor.
They're also building something else next to Jared....I'm hoping it's a Chipotle

Re: The old Toys R Us on 347 in Lake Grove
I don't know about TRU but I know next to Jared it was supposed to be a bank. Bank of America, I believe. At least that was the plan when Whole Foods was being built.

I was wondering too!
I also heard next to Jared was going to be a Bank of America - but I drive by all the time and I don't see a vault and usually its built by now.

Isn't that space too big for a TJ's.

Re: The old Toys R Us on 347 in Lake Grove
I wonder if they've been feeling the squeeze from Whole Foods. I guess not, if they're moving into such a large space like that. Seems a little silly, for them to be across the street from each other though.

Re: The old Toys R Us on 347 in Lake Grove
Me too. But there's so much around the area, what else could go in that would be a "wow!" kind of store?
I think the only thing missing around here is a Dave and Buster's type of place.

You're right. I was hoping for a Christmas Tree Shop or a Buy Buy Baby. I know there's a Babies R Us right there, but they need some competition.

Re: The old Toys R Us on 347 in Lake Grove
When I was there the other day I noticed that it looked like they divided the space. It is obviously WAY too big for a Trader Joes so I think that they will put something else there as well.
I also agree that a Dave and Busters would be perfect there!

Re: The old Toys R Us on 347 in Lake Grove
If they put in a huge store like Ikea, it would be smart to change Moriches road to a permanent 4 lane road. It's insane over there as it is during peak mall times or during the holidays. At least on that point, I'm glad it's just TJ's.

Yeah, an Old Navy where would do really well. I think the closest Old Navy is in Commack.
What is an Aldi?

Oh Yeah.... I wish they would put a NEW type of store in there. Something fun, Old Navy is boring.

Aldi's is a discount supermarket. It actually owns part of trader joe's but only sells their brand of foods. It's like going to a supermarket filled with generics.
