This is exactly what I told DH the other day. If they are happy and enjoying it, then why not.
I'm with you guys! Although our tree is down, we were sad doing it.

THe Christmas season did not officially end until this past Sunday with the feast of the Baptism. So they are only a little behind schedule. We always leave it up until sometime after "Little Christmas"
What is wrong with wanting to extend the Christmas Spirit.
THe priest at my aunt's church asked them to leave decorations up until last weekend, which was Little Christmas apparently. So they are one week later than that if they are going by Little Christmas.

Our neighbors across the street still have their lights on every night. She warned me (we just moved here) that she leaves it up as long as her husband will let her.
Somedays it bothers me, and some nights it makes me smile...but truth be told I'm ready for them to stop putting them on (they are literally the last in the neighborhood!)

Around 6:00pm every night they turn on the Christmas tree lights and it's on all night until I get up at 6:00am. I don't get it.
they need to let xmas go!

I just passed a house last night with lights up, a wreath on the front door and garland draped over their fence. It's a bit much, but, I really can't talk...one year I took my (fake) tree down right before Valentine's Day.  I just never got around to it!

We keep our tree up until after 'Little Christmas' on January 6th...the following weekend everything usually comes down but this time all we got to do was the outside stuff. This weekend is the inside stuff including the tree.
I have to admit that while it's up I still put the lights on (it's fake) but it isn't near the front window for neighbors to see.
That's what we did. Everything came down after "Little Christmas"
Same here. Usually by January 12th, it's away.

I took the tree down right after new year's day. And I leave the Nativity Scene out until "little christmas". Now all the christmas boxes have been put away in the garage and the box with the nativity set is put away in the box but has been sitting in my living room since Jan. 7th ...

Ok yea, NOW it's excessive!!!! 
We have a neighbor who put their tree to the curb in a clear plastic garbage bag shortly after Christmas. I read the sanitation pamphlet they sent us when we moved in and it states that they don't take trees if they're in a bag.
Saturday will be March, it is STILL sitting out on the curb!!!! 
I'm wondering if it's still there next year, will they bring it back into the house and put it up again??

The tree is still up in their window. It's almost March. If I had the balls, I'd snap a picture when I dropped my kid off at school, but I don't!

I had a friend who lost a parent right before Christmas. Every year it was a huge family event to put up the tree together as a family. After the holidays they had a very hard time taking down the tree as they felt the longer it was up the longer they would look at is and feel the warmth of their parent.
The day she finally took it down was as emotional for her as the day of the funeral. Perhaps the tree reminds them of something or someone or some awesome memory this year and they are keeping the tree up to keep the memory alive?
Maybe, you just never know.

A house on Main Street (27A) in Bay Shore still turns on their lights and lights up a tree in their window. I laugh everytime I drive by. I would almost be annoyed if they took them down.

Ok so my neighbor still has his lights on, and wreaths up. The worst though is that he has icicle lights, and first of all he runs them day and night (what a waste of electricty!) but half the string is out. Last year he did the same thing, but also had lit wreaths- one by one they burnt out, and then around March my other neighbor's daughter took them down while visiting the guy's daughter.
Honestly it makes me laugh, I was a little sad when they came down last year, especially since it really riles my one neighbor up, he gets so upset you can't help but laugh. I really think the guy keeps them up just to piss this neighbor off!

I too have a neighbor that still has their Christmas tree up and still turns the lights on every night. You can see the tree through the window. I'm wondering if there is a reason for it.

People next door to me still have their house decorted with Chirstmas lights and turn them on every night....I've actually seen a few houses with xmas lights...
And no they're not Valentines Day or St. Parricks day lights
