The pg test read a faint BFP...Need Advice from my fellow moms/dads...
I haven’t been around much lately because of my new job and getting Gianna and us use to the whole new routine and daycare, but I need some support more than ever, and you guys have been here for me for so long.
Gianna’s going to be a big sister, holy moly. I got a faint BFP yesterday afternoon, the pg test finally confirmed at 12dpo what I have been suspecting for at least a week. I haven’t even told a soul yet, but I need to get it out, you guys are finding out before my family, even my parents.
We are caught way off guard, I am in total shock, this pg was not planned. We didn’t want to start trying again until DH finished his second masters/MBA next year. We still have a 2 bed townhouse. I am so scared, worried, and most of all, so afraid of how we will be able to do it financially, emotionally, logistically and physically with a 14 month old and a newborn.
I have been trying to focus on the positives (thank you morgan), but I can feel myself today getting more and more down in the dumps when I should be so happy I have this blessing.
I want to be happy, I know I will be happy, but it’s so hard right now with all these emotions and worries circling my head.
I guess I am asking for some words of encouragement, just please tell me it’s going to be okay, especially if any mommy’s or daddy’s out there have little ones very close in age or on their second or third.
Warmest Regards, Michele

Re: The pg test read a faint BFP...Need Advice...
As I said before, let yourself feel down in the dumps; it's okay and a huge adjustment to think about. Let yourself grieve the change in your family and in YOUR life. It's all perfectly normal. I'm always here if you need me!!!

You are allowed to feel sad, nervous, anxious...everything you are feeling people go through even when they plan their pregnancy. It will take time to get used to the idea but once you tell people and get that extra support I am sure it will be easier.

Everything will work out and I believe that God will not give you more than you can handle. You and your DH will figure it out. Congrats!

I haven't been there so I don't know how you feel but if I turned back time and was in the same boat I would be feeling all you're feeling and then some. Just remember that what a baby needs most is love, a place to sleep and food. 2 bedrooms is totally fine. You babies can share a room for a while, not a big deal. Things like this just have a way of working themselves out.

Feel however you feel without guilt. You are going to be a mix of emotions for a bit. This will be OK, you will be OK. Many hugs and support here for you

Re: The pg test read a faint BFP...Need Advice from my fellow moms/dads...
thank you all-hugs
I am a true believer of what happens, happens for a reason, and what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. So I know I will be okay, I am just a mess today. I don’t even want to fully believe it until I get a blood test, I guess I am just prolonging the inevitable.
I will see this in a happy positive light, and embrace my blessing, I am sure. I do agree, I think I just need to grieve that my life will never be the same and that everything will truly work out, cause it always does. I just need to breathe. I just have to readjust our plans and pray everything will be okay hopefully. I just started a new job I love, I can prob kiss that goodbye though.

Congratulations Michele! You CAN handle this, I'm sure of it... but, like others said, LET yourself go through the gamut of emotions. Let yourself feel the anxiety and sadness, without any guilt. It will help you come to terms and view the pregnancy in a much happier light down the road. Good luck!

Michele, I know it must be a really frightening time for you right now since Gianna is only 5 mos old and you weren't planning this... but everything happens for a reason. Trust in that - Gianna was meant to have a sibling that was close to her age! You will do fine...you guys will be fine...and you have 10 whole months to get ready for this! Hang in there and congrats!!

Re: The pg test read a faint BFP...Need Advice from my fellow moms/dads...
I am due in March with #2 and they will only be 15 months apart. Once the initial shock wears off you will figure out how you are going to make it work. I am 20 weeks and I am so looking forward to the new baby.
Best of luck to you and don't be so hard on yourself, these emotions are totally normal.

Re: The pg test read a faint BFP...Need Advice from my fellow moms/dads...
First of all, congratulations!! I too am freaking out about #2 and it was planned!! I think no matter what, it's going take some getting used to.
I could go into all the great things about having little ones close together, and I'm sure you know all that, but I'll repeat some anyway...You're still in the "zone" with a baby...diapers, sleepless nights, etc, so you don't have to worry about getting *back* in; you never left! They'll be automatic playmates for one another and leave you alone...hehehe! I know there's a lot others...the veteran moms can help with that because I'm just repeating what I've been told!
Times are going to be tough occasionally and you know that too. You know, it's OK to be worried and sad even, I've felt the same way many times.
I know you're going to do great!
PS...I think there needs to be a "Two Under Two" support group here!

Re: The pg test read a faint BFP...Need Advice from my fellow moms/dads...
I would feel the same way if i were you. Somehow, my mom did it. My sister and i are 18 months apart, then came my brother and we are 16 months apart then 2 years later came my youngest brother, so thats 4 babies in...5 1/2 years! I havent been there, but i've heard, seen, and lived through a family with children very close in age. You can do it! There are goign to be rough times, but thats what we (and your family) are here for. Just take advantage of all the help you can get. Financially, im sure you will cut back, cut corners, get second jobs, or whatever you need to do and you will be just fine. I shared a room with my sister, and my 2 brothers shared a room. Your children will be very close and when they get older, be thankful to have each other. To you and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Re: The pg test read a faint BFP...Need Advice from my fellow moms/dads...
Its definately going to be ok- its just really scary and overwhelming right now. One of my close friends had a 2 month old and found out she was pregnant again. They live in a two bedroom house(TINY) and she was the main bread winner. Her DH was starting his own business.
The first year was rough and money was tight. My friend had her days when she really thought she was going to lose it. Her older son was diagnosed with speech problems, needs special services. But now the kids are 2 and 3, out of diapers, money is better, and she is so happy it worked out the way it did. The boys are best friends and always have someone to play with. They are adding on the house.
It always works out and believe me, my friend wouldn't have said how happy she was about how it turned out two years ago. Now she said she is so happy to be where is she.
