The Pill & Pregnancy
Hey ladies! I am trying to get an idea of when to go off the pill to begin TTC. I am just curious to see how quickly pill takers got pregnant after going off the pill. I know what my doctor says, but I'd like to get some real life ideas too.
Your imput would be much appreciated! TIA!

I got pregnant the first month off the pill!
I was on the pill for over 10+ years.

my dr told me to go off about 3 months before we want to start trying... we got pregnant on the second cycle that we strarted to try. I honestly wish that i would have gone off even sooner because my cycles were so wacky after going off and became super long- it took a lot of OPKS to really figure out my O-date...

Went off the pill mid June, got pregnant the first weekend is July.
I really didn't think it would happen that fast, I thought it would take a few months.

i was on the pill for 7 years and then started using nuvaring (same meds as in a low-dose pill). i went off BCP in mid-september, and just got my BFP today.

just wanted to say that i checked of 7-12, but that is misleading because we did not start trying right away. it took us two cycles to try and that was 6 months after ending the pill.

I went off the pill in Feb, monitored my cycles for 3 months and then officially started TTC and got pg 1st month trying.

Went off in July.
Wasn't careful in October.
I'm now 12w+

Good luck! My Best Friend was on the pill and said you are most fertile coming right off of it..they had their DS first month off the pill...Best of Luck!

I was on the pill for 5 years. My doctor told me to be off it for a full 3 cycles before even trying. I waited the 3 cycles, and then 3 months later I was pregnant. So 6 months after I stopped taking the pill I was pg.

same here. I think the pill totally screwed up my body and won't go on it again. I now have totally regular cycles off of it.

Very similar. I went off the pill at the end of July and got pregnant August 13, 2006.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, unless you are ready to get preg right away when you come off the pill, you have to use a back up method.
