Re: The Price of a Brick Patio and stoop!

We got stamped concrete.. a porch(11 x 22 feet) and sidewalk the entire length of our house for less than 1/2 that price
Is stamped concrete the most afordable option for a patio? My mother wants to look into this, so I was just wondering.

Re: The Price of a Brick Patio and stoop!
So the brick guy came and we discussed:
We are doing the patio, (approx 22x 25) two oversized stoops, side and front with bullnose, cobblestone to edge the flower/bush beds about 100 ft., cement walkway in the back and a cement stoop in the back. (I don't have a backyard, I have two side yards so the back is just a means of exit)
It's a lot of work and a lot of brick. I don't have the estimate yet but from the simple math in my head I can say it will probably be about $10K.
I am going to ask him about a short payment plan since I can't just take $10K out of my account and shell it out, but the work has to get done.
We are doing pavers but the kind that has a rustic look to it. The house is 80 years old and brick and wanted to make sure it presented right. Unfortunately, this paver is about $1.25 more per sq. ft.
I will probably get another estimate before pulling the trigger because I have to prove to myself that I got the best deal for what I want..
DH doesn't like the guy-but then again he hates all contractors.

We are actually really good friends w/ him so we can pay him when we want.
My neighbor does the stamped concrete and he did his patio. It came out beautiful! I also watched them do my sister's neighbors and that came out really nice too.

Re: The Price of a Brick Patio and stoop!-Updated
My parents are spending $18K and their backyard is 60x40 with a 20x40 inground pool. They are paving everything around the pool including the right side of the house and the driveway. The driveway is two car wide and 6 cars long. They are putting cement under the pavers in the back and cementing the driveway, facing the retaining wall with stone and the front entry way with stone (its hard to desribe I will take pictures. This guy did my dad's neighbores house and my dad was really happy and they work fast. They started this past saturday and they already cemented everything.
