we're intentionally putting the baby in the smallest of our bedrooms. They don't need much space and we'd rather have the bigger rooms for the office/guestroom, and for the child when they outgrow the nursery and the next baby goes in there...

don't worry about it.

We did the same thing!

Don't let comments like that bother you. We have a house and all our bedrooms are tiny. And we make due with it. Babies don't need a room, so just go with it and enjoy your new baby when he comes.

I'm really not letting it bother me anymore. It just irked me a little that's all.

Your son will be fine.... Sometimes people don't know when to keep their comments to themselves.

My son has his own room, in fact it's the only room in the house that's fully decorated and furnished. He's maybe slept in it 4 nights and he's almost 11 months. He slept in the co-sleeper until 8 months. Just we started putting him in his crib , we ended up moving his crib in our bedroom bc we were having heating issues in his.

Uhm, I guess we can say that I NEVER had my own room Chat Icon

I shared my room with my sister ALL my life, and ya know what, I never felt deprived one day of it ! Oh wait, when she got married Chat Icon or even before when she moved into my nonna's old bedroom (which used to be a kitchen too Chat Icon )

It doesnt matter the size of the space, it matters how much love is in it Chat Icon

The nursery in our house is a small room. We can fit (and it's a tight fit) a crib, a dresser, a bookcase and the glider (not the ottoman now that she's moving - took up too much room). We don't even have room for a changing table, we changed her in the crib and then when we lowered the mattress we change her on the floor. It's worked fine for us and her.

ETA: We bought the house from ILs and my BIL lived in that room until he was out of college and he's fine.

I didn't even get a rocking chair. I can feed him on the couch or in my bedroom. There was absolutely no room for a rocking chair cuz then you would not even be able to walk into the room.

But he's got a small one that one of his aunts made for him.

I never bothered getting a changing table either for the same reason. It would take up too much space in the room, and our rooms are quite small too. Glider/ottom, I never saw the point in getting either.

and I LOOVE MAtthews rocking chair, its the cutest thing ever ! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Hey, our nursery is 8 x 10! With the crib, dresser, and glider there is about enough room to stand in between them! What can we do. FH used it as an office before and fit an employee too, lmao. In todays world every kid wants their own room and a big one at that. I say you appreciate things more sometimes when you do without. Of course if I had the room to offer, I would ,but we will work with what we've got.

I'm not defending her but I think she made the comment because of all the furniture we have. Because in addition to the crib we have the changing table and chifferobe dresser. But anyways whatever furniture we get it's always going to look crammy.

Anna I rememeber when your sister moved into your nonna's small room...LOL You must have felt hurt that she would leave you after all those years of sharing a room...LOL Your Nonna's room is half the size of Matthews nursery but your sister made do with what she had.

You are so right. It's not about how much space it's about the love.

I love his rocking chair too Anna. I'm more happy to have that in his room than a big rocking chair for myself. Don't need it. Like I said. I can feed him in my bedroom or on the couch. I don't need to have my feet up in an ottoman I like sitting with my legs crossed anyways. It's my preferred position.
