The "R" Family Christmas Breakfast recipe
I found it! Or rather, I had my Aunt message it to me because I couldn't find it!
7 slices white bread 1/4 tsp. pepper 8 oz shredded cheddar 3 cups milk 6 eggs 1 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. salt 3-4 strips bacon
Shred bread in a food processor or pull apart into small pieces. Mix bread and cheese and spread in bottom of greased 71/2 x 12 inch flat baking dish. Beat eggs and milk together and stir in salt, pepper, and mustard. Pour gently over bread and cheese mixture. Crumble bacon and spread on top. Refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350, for approximately 1 hour.
This part is from my Aunt:
**I use the hormel bacon bits - It's real bacon crumbled, and it saves time and a messy clean-up. I am sure I also use more than the equivalent of 3-4 strips of bacon. I sprinkle it on top so that every piece has enough bacon. Enjoy! XXXOOO
