The snow ruined DD's birthday party weekend.
So yeah, we got 3 feet of snow and had to cancel DD's birthday party. Without going into the whole sob story, we lost power early in the morning yesterday and instead of having a fun party with all of our friends and family, DD and I got stuck at the hotel my inlaws were staying in because they had heat and hot water while DH stayed home freezing with the dogs and shoveling.
The power finally came back this morning but nobody's going to be able to get out for days, my parents couldn't even make it, his parents are (allegedly) leaving tomorrow, and all attempts I'm making to find another date are being met with calendar conflicts.
To make matters worse, they're expecting another storm Tuesday night that could cause us to not make it in for her school party on Wednesday, either. 
I know she won't care or remember but I had such high hopes for this party and such fun things planned. We had goody bags and we had the video camera all charged up. She didn't get to wear her pretty dress, she might not get to wear her special birthday shirt to school on Wednesday, and I'm so sad about it. I just wanted this to be a time for everyone to celebrate this amazing little girl being in our lives for a year and it seems like everything that could possibly go wrong did.
Oh, and I think she's cutting more teeth because she's been drooly and clingy and miserable all weekend.
I guess I just need a hug.

She has no idea. But she will play off your emotions. Make this week the BEST WEEK EVER at home. Build magic castles with sheets and ordinary furniture. Put her in that birthday shirt on Wednesday and treat her like a princess.
Winter sucks, but she doesn't need to know that.
