The strangest thing happened this afternoon...
A little background....
I use T-Mobile for my cell phone. My bill is due on the 14th of each month.
In June, I went to the store to pay my bill the day before it was due and was told that I had a zero balance. I thought that maybe I had already paid it way early and forgot about it.
This afternoon, I went to pay my bill again (I know, I know, it was late ) and the person who was behind the counter said that the bill was paid and I actually had a -$16.00 balance! I was like
So I called T-Mobile customer service when I got home and they said that my bill has been paid by check for the last 2 months and the last 4 digits on the checks don't match either DH's or my checking accounts! The customer service rep said that it *might* be a screw-up and that my account got mixed up with someone else's account.
I don't know if this was stupid of me or not, but I paid the past 2 months bills today, just in case things got straightened out and my bill wasn't actually the one that was meant to be paid.
She said that she has never gotten a call about a question regarding a zero/negative balance!
Has this ever happened to anyone else, and do you think that I'm going to get scr ewed in any because of this???

I don't have t-mobile, but it sounds like someone's payment is being applied to your account.
I would try to get something in writing from them so that if they discontinue your service or you get a nasty letter you have something on paper saying you were told you have a negative balance.
It would be nice to think it was a good samaritan though

Sounds like someone elses payment went to your acct and I'm sure they'll be calling up questioning why their account has a balance. I think it was a good idea to have paid them.

I work for verizon (not wireless) but I see this kind of thing more than you think. People mix up numbers frequently and pay someone else's account. It will probably catch up with you when the other person sees that their payment hasn't posted to their account and they do a search for payment
