Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Everyday she breaks my heart….
Ok, here’s a few to share
If she’s asleep and its time to wake up, I talk to her.. “AJ, its time to wake up” and I sing a few lines of “good morning, good morning” from Singin in the Rain… She’ll slowly stretch and finally blink her eyes open and she looks over at me all serious and sleepy then… BAM!!!! a huge toothless grin. It makes me smile everytime.
Same thing if she’s up before us and not hungry. She’ll just wave her arms and play in her snuggle nest and that wakes me up. So I look over and she stops, looks at me and grins and starts to kick her little legs all excited.
One time she’s sitting on my lap facing me and I’m talking to her. She’s looking at my lips and trying to figure out what it is Im saying. So I got a little bored with talking and was just admiring her. I unconsciously tilted my head (I do that, maybe cause Im partially deaf, I dunno, it’s a trait of mine) not less than half second later she tilts her head the exact same way and smirks (her half grin). I was so surprised. My hubby caught it and said “OMG, she’s just like you!’
When she was a month or so old she HATED being swaddled. She would have to have her arms free, but she had no control of her nervous system so they jerk and keep her awake. She co-sleeps with us in a snuggle nest. So I’d go to bed with her and reach over grab both hands and hold them on her chest. Less than 2 secs later she’s asleep. Later it became if she’s fussy I just lay my hand on her chest and she immediately quiets down and goes to sleep. Now if she’s not feeling well, like now, or if she’s a little awake, she’ll grab my finger and fall asleep.. I fall asleep with her holding my finger and there’s NOTHING more sweet than waking up to those tiny fingers wrapped around yours and looking into that sweet face in peaceful, trusting slumber.
OK, that almost had me crying typing that.. gotta stop now

I love when Julia runs over to me and gives me a big hug and tells me, "mommy your the best"! melts my heart! She's been doing this a lot lately.
Todd Jr only has eyes for his mama, so when ever anyone else is holding him he gives me these looks like mom, your the only one I want and his lip quivers, its so cute!

Love them all
Plenty for me too but lately Gianna has this new thing. We, DH, Gianna and I get into our bed and relax to watch tv. She gets in the middle with blankie and looks over to me, says " MA" and caresses' (sp?) my face and then does the same to DH.
It so awesome...I just love that time of day with her.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
What an awesome thread. I loved reading all of these sweetest moments
I have so many but the one that always think of is the same for both Damien and Jaidy.
It is the nights in the hospital just after I had them. At like 2:00am, when they would bring me the baby. Both of us trying to figure out this breastfeeding thing. The light of the TV, with the volume turned down. My most precious memories will always be that moment for both of them. To me it felt like we were the only two people in the world. They would then spend the night with me in my bed. It will always be my favorite part of breastfeeding
Also I have to add this one...
We didn't know we were pregnant with Damien for about a week when we got married. So whenever Damien talks about the wedding he says, "When we got married" not just me and DH but him too

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Most recently, my DD singing to her baby "lullaby, good night, go to sleep my pretty baby".
It's a lullaby that I improvised to Brahm's Lullaby when I was on maternity leave. It's been a long time since I sang it, since I don't rock her to sleep anymore and we've been focusing on other real songs. All of a sudden, one day she's singing it to her own baby doll.
She has tucked it away into her brain all this time until she could get all the words out herself.

Well, I am am a new mom, so no "major" 1st's yet, butttt.....
Every finger grab, every single giant smile, every time he nuzzles into my chest, every sigh of relief and comfort when I snuggle with him.
And selfishly, every time he cries when daddy is holding him, and stops the second I pick him up

I love it when out of nowhere DD will climb up on my lap and give me a big hug and kiss for no reason. Then she'll just cuddle for a while. It's extra great when it's followed by and "I you mama" (her way of saying I love you)

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Every night when we do the nightime routine, she sits on my lap and drinks her bottle while I sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". She always strokes my arms and face or if my hair is down, she runs her fingers through my hair.
Tonight she told me "I love you" for the first time.
No matter HOW rushed I may feel, I refuse to allow our evening time together to be shortened/affected. I cherish every second of it.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Just recently Johnny climbed on my lap, looked me in the eye and then kissed me without me asking him to kiss me. He then said "i la ya" which is how he says i love you. Keep in mind i always always have to ask him to say it and he then repeats it, but this was completely spontaneous. It made me cry. I love this little boy so much!!

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Every night when I bring Lily up to her crib for bedtime, I read her a few stories and then put her in the crib. I place her in there and then walk over to turn out the light. She stands up in her crib and waits at the edge for me to come back over so I can give her a kiss goodnight. She gets a huge smile on her face as I walk over and then she just leans in.....she's amazing.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
This thread has me in tears. It's all so sweet and filled with nothing but love.
DS is 2 months (tomorrow!) so my sweetest moments have really been all of them. It's been so tough at times adjusting. However, I'll never forget holding him for the first time and the way he just "fit" into my body.
Also, he recently started to smile for real. I'll never forget the smile he gave me when he saw me. he gives me the most amazing smile now, especially if he's just woken up. DS is very active and loves it when we sings. He now coos in order to get my attention and to have a conversation. I fall in love with this child more and more.

my sweetest moments are every morning...when DD wakes up and i yell out that mama's coming and she screeches and as soon as she sees me she goes nuts and when i pick her up she grabs onto me so tightly and puts her lips against my cheek while holding my face and smiles...how can you have a bad day after a greeting like that!!!
This just melted my heart.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Every Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 3:00......I pick them up from school and each of them run across the room screaming "MOOOOOMMMMYYYYYYY" and give me the hugest hug.
I pick Ava up first and then we go to Jack's class......he runs out, mommy and I get my hug. Then he turns to Ava and gives her a big hug.
I get "i love you" and kisses a lot as well - there is nothing better.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
I have soooo many but two of my favorites are the first time he said "mommy, you're my best friend" (now he says it all the time) and when one day he came home from school, gently took my face in his hands and said "mommy, you like a princess"

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Little DD gives her stuffed animals kisses and she will give a kiss to one big eared mouse and then she gave me a big fat kiss without me asking.
Older DD--I recently went away on business and one night when talking to DD she whispered. I love spending time with Daddy but I really miss my mommy.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
I'm really not one to post storied of my DD but I will take this opportunity. There are a couple I'd love to share...
It was about a year ago. I was changing/dressing her on the changing table. I stood her up to button/zip her pants. When I was done I looked up at her like I always do and she leaned down and put a gentle kiss on my nose and then on each cheek. I had never done this to her, so I don't really know where she got it, but I loved it.
The other day we were at the pizza place. The waiter came over and said to her "What's your name?" She said, "My name is Marron...and this is my best friend Mommy!" Again, I don't know where she came up with is.
I work overnights so the other morning when I got home, she was with my sister. She was very involved with her portable DVD player and The Little Einsteins. I said hello to her but she never acknowledged me. I sat down on the couch next to her and put my arm around her. She looked over for a minute, and then her face lit up, and she yelled, "Mommmmyyyyy!!!" It was totally worth the 12 hours of work!
(Others may not find this one "sweet" but it melted my heart). I've been having alot of trouble with her climbing on a little barbie piano bench and reaching up to stuff on our shelves in the living room. I tell her no all the time. She knocked everything over the other day and scared herself silly. So today, she was again climbing (I was putting up Christmas lights in another room and didn't see her. I know, bad Mommy) and I heard a crash. I ran out to see what happened and there she was standing on the bench, and the stocking holders were on the floor -- she obviously knocked them over. So I yelled at her for climbing again and I gave her a spank on her diapered butt (I don't usually do this but I didn't know what else to do to try to make this rule sink in) and I put her in a time out in the same room where I was working. So she was crying for a minute or so and then said (through her tears) "Mommy, you have to make me feel better." She sure makes it hard to be tough with her!

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Recently DH and I got into an argument and I went into our bedroom so Jacob wouldnt see me cry. I was sitting on the bed with my head down and looked up and Jacob was standing right next me. He wiped my tears off my face and gave me a kiss. My heart just broke into a million pieces...I couldnt stop holding him
