The trip home from the hospital..
Did you sit in the backseat with the baby? I want to, but am having twins, so I'm not sure if they'll be enough room for me to be comfortable. I'm having a c-section, so I'm not sure how I'll feel. Also, how soon did you drive after having the baby?

Re: The trip home from the hospital..
we have a mini van so they were each in their own seats. But i came home before they did .. they were in the NICu for a month so I rode home with a pillow in my lap we live in a very bumpy area and I drove 2 weeks after my c-section.. I have a 3.5 yo and had to drive her to camp and drove to the NICU...

Re: The trip home from the hospital..
I sat in the back with DS mainly because I have a small car and with his car seat my passenger seat is pushed all the way up, so its not very comfy.
I had a c-section as well and was feeling pretty good by the time I left the hospital 3 days later. My dr had told me not to drive for 1 week after.

Re: The trip home from the hospital..
I sat in the back with DD. How long is your ride? We had a 40 minute ride. Any trip we take that is over 30 minutes I usually sit in the back with her because she gets bored, unless I'm driving of course.
I drove 4 weeks after my c-section. My incision opened 12 days after and needed more time to heal, otherwise I probably would have started driving 2 weeks after.

Re: The trip home from the hospital..
I sat in the back with Megan.
My dh drove and my mom came along and sat in the back as well. I had a c section and I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Every bump we hit, I saw stars! The baby started SCREAMING the second we put her in the seat and I was a nervous wreck, so mom helped a lot!
I didnt start driving again until like a month later. I didnt want to chance anything and my dh was home so I figured, why drive?

Re: The trip home from the hospital..
I didnt sit in the back with the twins...I only sat in the back with DS b/c the nurse who brought us to the car was like "arent you going to sit in the back with the baby???" I didnt feel like getting into it..I didnt have a c-section with the twins but I was told not to drive for a week. I didnt listen b/c they stayed in the hospital for a week and I had to go back and forth.

I did and I had a c. Climb in before you snap the infant carrier in. Just take your time and be careful.

Re: The trip home from the hospital..
I did sit in the back seat but it isnt necessary. If they cry, there isnt much you can do for them except give them a pacifier. I drove probably 4 days later to get milk from 7-11.
