I agree. That is real dedication. Honestly though if running is a huge part of your life before a baby I think you just keep going once the baby is here. I doubt she had the baby and then decided to start running.

She's won three other times I believe.
Still...having a baby and training like she would have to.
I'm amazed. And exhausted.

If this is something your body is completely used to, it is so doable to do after baby - thats awesome!!
I'll bet she had no trouble fitting into her pre-preggo jeans!!!

Re: The winner of the ING NYC Marathon...
I ran 6 marathons before DS and now, I'm lucky if I have time for a couple miles...where does she find the TIME?!
She makes women look good, not bad! She shows all those men who are afraid to hire us that with the proper support, we can go back without skipping a beat. It's just up to our employers to help us out...

Is that wise? I've never been pregnant, but that just seems unhealthy for the baby.

my dr is very hands off, which is good... he always says contune what you were doing before pregnancy and do it for as long as u feel comfortable....i think mostly they advise to not start something up that youve never done! i was running 11 days after hannah was born- and the only uncomfortable part was running with boobs full of milk!!! ouch! i had to wear 2 bras!!!

ITA.
I thought she was a "random" person when I read the OP.
But when I watched TV, I recognized her. She is a professional runner. She has won several marathons and goes to the Olympic Games. She actually could not finish the last Olympic games and everybody on TV could see her crying on the side of the road. She had nothing left in her.
I am not surprised by her running yesterday.

Re: The winner of the ING NYC Marathon...
Oh good. I don't feel bad knowing that she is a professional runner!
If she worked 40 hours a week, then took care of her baby while training for a marathon, I might feel ashamed that I can't even get to the gym 3 days a week.
Either way, good for her for winning!

Afterwards I can see, but while the baby is still developing, just doesn't seem like such a good idea to me. The impact/jarring while running can't be good.

If her body was used to that kind of conditioning before pregnancy and she had no complications, By all means...RUN!
DH is a runner. He runs marathons. Something happens when you run all the time, you body slims down very fast.
