Theme for first b-day party-- opinions please
Did you do a "first birthday party" theme? I'm just not finding one I love, but did find really pretty & cute pink & green floral decorations. They're not "kid" but they're really cute, and and DD doesn't watch TV so she doesn't love any characters.
Should I traditional "kid" first b-day party decorations instead?

I think what you have is fine. There will be plenty other times when you have themed parties.

That is fine. What you could do then is find a cute balloon in the hape of a one that coordinates with the paltes etc.. and tie it to yur DD highchair. You will have sooo many more partieswhen themes will come ito play! Soon enough she will be telling you what she wants as her theme!

DS's 1st birthday theme was Winnie the pooh.
This year his 2nd birthday theme is playhouse disney.
But honestly you can do any theme you want for the 1st birthday. I think what you want to do is just fine...

I didn't do anything w/ the first birthday theme either. Since he's running, I did "On the Move- Plains, Train and Automobiles." This company, Viking, has adorable cars, plains and trains and I incorporated them into everything. The plates, etc... were just vibrant colors- red, green, yellow and blue.
Just do what you like. I think what you're describing is really cute and girly
Edited to add a picture of the cake so you can see--

I found really nice ballon decorations at the dollar store and stuck with it as a theme. I don't think you need to do a "theme" for a first birthday but we also didn't do a big party either.

I don't think you have to stick with the "1" theme or a character theme.
Something cute and girlie is just as good.
Do something you like. I love pink and green together.

Do what you like. We are having red white and blue theme in late June. DS isn't a big TV watcher and there are no characters he even knows at this point. YOu have time to have a kid theme for the next 8 or 9 years!
I hope DS will go along with a luau theme for me one year- I just want to have a luau!

Re: Theme for first b-day party-- opinions please
Thanks everyone! The stuff I have is definitely girly, but floral so it's not really "kid", but it's still going to be cute I think.
Thanks for the reassurance

C- so far i dont think we are doing a "theme", i will have to see, the restaurant we are having it at supplies the centerpiece's (flowers/candles), etc and we are allowed only limited decoration/balloons (even though i wont let that stop me i will def decorate some though, just not sure where i am going to go with it yet
