Therapy ending - gifts for therapists?

It seems like DS's last days of therapy are going to be next week. I bought his therapist Vera Bradley bags for a holiday gift. Wondering what I should give them as a thank you gift? I was thinking a gift card...but how much? $50 or $75? Considering I am going to be giving them there thank you gift with their holiday gift.

How long have they been with you? $75 seems VERY generous.

They have been with us since June, so 6 months.

I just lurk on this board, however, as someone who works in the human services profession (but not with kids!), we are really not supposed to accept expensive gifts and definitely not $$$ from our clients for ethical reasons.

I think $50 is good. I usually give a $50 GC for Christmas.

I think I mentioned this in a similar post. I am giving $10 gift cards from Target for DS's therapists in a nice little bag with some holiday candy. I of course would love to give more but I also have DS's daycare providers (8 people) to buy gift cards for as well. So it adds up quickly.

I have 2 therapists that we have been with us for almost 2 years and are very very good to DD. To those we give $75 GC and a small gift. Our other therapists have only been a few months so I got a GC to either Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts...all for $25.

Re: Therapy ending - gifts for therapists?

for the holidays we gave each therapist (3 have been with him for a year and 3 have been with him 9 months) $25 GC/chocolate/homemade rainbow cookies.

in August 2010, 4 of them will be leaving us (we are retaining 2 ABA therapists for after school) and we will be giving them $100 GC (by then the 4 will have been with DS for 20 months)

if they were with us for 6 months i would do $25-$50 (which also depends on how many times a week they see your DC)
