There are currently . . .
192 notebooks in the back of my car! just 60 or so more to go and I'll be all ready for September!

can i ask where do you work that you have to buy all these notebooks, i work for the city and have worked for catholic schools and have always gotten all these supplies everyone is buying like crazy

I work in a public school on LI that many would consider "poor" from a socio-economic status. I teach an extra remedial course, so I feel bad making parents pay for additional supplies, when they are already paying for stuff for the main subjects.
Honestly, at $.09 a notebook, it works out to about $25. For me, it's worth it to make sure everyone has the same thing, and the students are always prepared.

Its the same situation for me and I teach upstate in a "inner city" school where most of my kids cant even afford lunch much less notebooks and pencils
My mom is a big help and buys most of my supplies for me at the start of each year

i agree whatever you have to do to make sure all the kids have what they need, i have only worked in what would be condsidered not so great areas of brooklyn, but i always had the basics, i always bought if felt they needed more,

Walmart always has notebooks for 10 cents each, in case you don't want to make multiple trips to Staples! The extra penny may be better than gas!!

good to know, thanks!!
I actually don't mind the trips to Staples - if gives me a reason to shower and get dressed in the morning and feel like I have accomplished something .

I actually don't mind the trips to Staples - if gives me a reason to shower and get dressed in the morning and feel like I have accomplished something .
