There are still good people in this world - even in my neighborhood!
I just want to say the reason I made the above statement is because people are always turning their lips/noses up when I tell them where I live in the Bronx.
I got an email on Myspace from my DH's friend telling me she was trying to reach us because a guy called her saying he found a phone and wanted to let the person know. I asked DH and he said "my phone is upstairs". He went up and checked and sure enough it wasn't there, so he assumed he left it work. Turns out he dropped his phone in the street right outside of our house. Some guy found it, and when DH called his phone he told him he would be more than happy to bring it to him.
The guy came back and handed the phone to DH and DH gave him $20.00.
I am actually shocked, because anyone else would have looked at this as an opportunity to make some money - especially because it's a really nice phone but he brought it back. There are still good people in MY neighborhood! Goes to show it doesn't matter if you live in the BEST/WORST area there are still good people everywhere!

Re: There are still good people in this world - even in my neighborhood!
I dropped my bank card, license & credit card outside my husband's SUV. A man left a note on the car with his phone number... returned everything to me.
I still had the card's replaced just to be safe, but I insisted on giving him $ for his kindness... because he saved me a lt of aggrivation when it came to my license.
I cannot TELL YOU how many times I've lost my phone and had a stranger return it to me...
however, I DID leave my wallet in a cab once and the guy tried to play extortionist... lucky for me one of my 'thuggish' friends went to pick it up for me and didn't let the dude get away with it.

this happened to my DH once too. he dropped it on a subway and a woman found the phone and called his friend, who called DH. the woman mailed us the phone and we sent her a $25 gc to barnes and noble.

That is really nice to hear. I believe it doesn't matter where you are, it is the people that matter.
