There is a birds nest in our attic. What should we do?

DH had to take the nest out b/c it was so hot up there he was afraid they would die. But now we dont know wehre to put them so their mommy will find them. Will the mother even go near them now that we moved the nest? Oh god, I dont want to wake up and have dead birds on my porch. If the mother doesnt come back we will have to feed them so they dont die.

ETA: DH said they can't fly yet. They are trying but can't. I feel horrible.
