Did I ever tell you that I hate people?

There is a parakeet in our yard!
We've been trying to catch it for the last hour
It lets us get really close and then it gets skittish
I feel so bad...we tried to lure it with food, but its been eating the grass
Now its on other side of the fence and we can't get over there (barbed wire fence/town land)
I'm so sad...I hope it makes it through the night

Can you put a covered cage out with some food?
eta. um, ok that was dumb, I'm sure you don't have extra cages sitting around your house. Maybe a card board box with some bird food?

we threw some of my parrot's food out but it didn't seem interested in it
Dh is going to try tomorrow if its around
I couldn't see if it was banded...but it must be...it wasn't too scared of us until we got really close

ummmm, actually we do 
we just bought a small cage for our parrot to sit outside with us and we were going to put it in that
But dh was going to try to trap it with a milk crate first

I don't blame the bird for running away. A big giant man coming after me in a thunderstorm to trap me with a milk crate?! That's like the reverse of the "Birds"
Hope he's ok & that you find him snuggled in the outdoor parrot cage.

Oh NO!
When I was little I found a parakeet in my friend's yard...I spend THREE hours in her yard trying to catch it..and I DID!
I got a shoebox for it, brought it home, bought a cage, but unfortunately it died shortly after, probably of pneumonia from being outside for too long (it's wasn't the summer).
I hope someone catches this little guy.

I seriously barely slept last night b/c I was so upset thinking about it out there petrified in the storm
